plywood
I know that was written a long time ago but ill reply to you anyway. Let's see PK played 16 games in the NHL 2 in the regular season and 14 in the playoffs for 10 pts total, 1 goal 9 assists +3 in 16 games played. Not too shabby for a 21 year old. Let's try the other approach with this kid, let's get excited one time like back in the days. We have a star coming in our club, why not! I agree its not to shabby at all, quite good actually in my opinion. But lets reserve the banner and star talk until he can at least prove to do it over an 82 game season

frostyHAWK
Well it's a bit more understandable for PK... he was basically thrown to the big boys teams out of the blue. But Gomez.... /facepalm. if this guy turns out to be the new captain i'll facepalm into a coma
plywood
Is he active in the dressing room? Well for one he was only up for like a month and a bit, or whatever it was, and 2 we arent in the dressing room, so how would we?

RSD
for the number theres no problem but gomez is not a captain. just ain't That's not for Gomez, Subban or anyone else to decide. Coach will make that choice during/after training camp. Remember, there is more to the C than meets the eye. There is stuff that goes on in the gym, locker room, between periods etc. that we don't get to see.
S-Bah
Wait before buying any Subban jersey or T-shirt, he apparently wants to change number (according to rds on twitter) #8 and #17 are available, #17 being Langway's and Ludwig's number or #8 Komisarek's Dick Duff's or Billy Hicke's number. Subban-Fan
I already feel sorry for Subban. He came up from the minors and had a great start to his young NHL career. Sure, that's fantastic - but now people are going to expect nothing short of perfection from him. I remember when Lappierre was called up, notched some goals and had a fantastic start and people were dubbing him some kind of team saver. Now, Lappierre is playing to his original potential and he's getting dumped on for it. I think Subban came up, had some great success and will eventually pay for that. Now, Lappierre is playing to his original potential and he's getting dumped on for it. I think Subban came up, had some great success and will eventually pay for that. There is a big difference between those two players: 1. Subban dominated the Canadian Junior Hockey League, LAPS did not. 2. Subban dominated at the world juniors and was picked best player at his position, LAPS did not even make the world juniors. 3. Subban dominated the AHL in his first season, LAPS did not. 4. Subban was one of our best players at his position in our longest running NHL playoff performance in a long time. LAPS was ok.... --------people are trying to use this reverse phycology stuff just so they will be able to say I told you so if he has a terrible season..... guess what it ain't going to happen, this kid is the real deal, he willl make some gaffes because of how offensively giffted he is but who cares, everytime he gets near the puck i get excited. I can see PK and Doughtry in LA as our top pairing at the next winter Olympics. by year 2 or 3 i see him challenging for a Norris.

He IS a star already in many of our minds, and if it can't even be implied HERE???????? I feel that some people have stop being so doom and gloom if one of newer posters has the nerve to actually use a fan forum to CHEER on a player rather then extrapulating his "compression" level lol (whatever player compression is) or simply reminding us all that he may fail. I am losing whatever joy I was getting here!!!!!!! I hope some the the EXPERTS here don't ruin it for the young fans who turn to this place to say GO Price. or GO PK and are chastized for it. DO NOT GIVE UP. Not everyone is like that here! Feel free to say whatever good you like of what ever player you like. GO AHEAD>>>SUNSHINE ON THEIR PARADE! Mathradio
He's still decent on the PK but since he is more of an offensive D-man I'd say the PP.

Hi Razor67 I think most everybody here wants all Habs prospects to succeed, they just don't want to set their expectations too high as in their experience you could be setting yourself up for a letdown. I love being optimistic myself and if things work out great if not I don't get down I just keep being optimistic.Go PK Go!
Mathradio
All that I expect from Subban this season around is that he plays a solid PP game as well as to be good on the penalty kill. Especially the penalty kill since he was pre-destined to be a penalty killer.

Mathradio
He played every position back in Hamilton. I sincerely hope that he doesn't become another MAB (i.e. switched over to forward) because he still has a good defensive game.
Big-Ted
He played every position back in Hamilton. I sincerely hope that he doesn't become another MAB (i.e. switched over to forward) because he still has a good defensive game. PK rushes up ice a lot and you get the feeling he loves playing the offensive part of the game more than the defensive aspects. But I agree, looking at the way he played in the playoffs, especially on some of the sequences against Crosby, he moves his feet well and he takes the body. No question that PK is able to play a physical game even though he is not overly big, and I like what he brings as an all-around defenceman. He'll develop a better ability to read the play and know when to go up ice and when to stay as he gains experience, but I'm of the opinion that he has the potential to be as good as some of the better offensive D-men to play in the league recently. I definitely do not see him being a liability like Mike green is, and while I don't think he'll have the intimidating defensive presence of a Pronger or a Doughty or a Chara, he can be as good as a Duncan Keith, a Dan Boyle, or even a Scott Niedermayer once he gets older.
