Rondalsf
beaubie created a great thread about our least favourite memories of Habs losses(playoffs, seasons, etc), so I thought let's have a positive outlook too. Guest habs1952
1976 - 1977 season. 8 losses in 80 games. That will never happen again. Honorable mention to the Habs 6 - 5 comeback victory over the Rangers after being down 5 - 0.

Larry-Launstein-Jr
In recent memory, Game 6 and 7 vs Washington this year were something else. Agreed. That entire comeback was one of the all-time classic comebacks in hockey history. My favorite victory of all was the 1976 Cup Finals vs. Philadelphia, where they not only put an end to the Flyers' run, but they also ushered in a new era in hockey history, where ability won over tough tactics. This would be later be carried on by the Islanders, Oilers and Red Wings. No longer could a team get a 2-3 goal lead and then rough up the opposition the rest of the night, because the Habs of the late 70s, the Islanders, Oilers and Red Wings had enough big, physical guys that allowed the scorers to have all the room they wanted to move around. These teams would get a lead before the teams like the Flyers were, thus taking them out of their game. Teams like the Flyers were forced to adapt, which many of them have not done so with much success. To me, that Cup win was the most satisfying ever, and one of the biggest reasons I'm a proud Habs fan.

And this one too -------------------------------- In more recent history, most of the games I've attended at the Bell and on the road (what can I say, they tend to win when I attend ) - here's my top 5 5-0 game 7 vs Boston playoffs 2008 - electric night 3-1 last January in NJ - against all odds 3-0 last December in Long Island - Markov return 3-1 vs Laffs game 82 in 2008 - suberb ending to a superb season 6-5 vs Caps last February - so much fun

Honorable mention to the Habs 6 - 5 comeback victory over the Rangers after being down 5 - 0. I can only imagine how amazing that must have beeen to watch. If I had, I probably would put it here too. In recent memory, Game 6 and 7 vs Washington this year were something else. Definately. Also, December 4th of last year against Boston, Game 4 win against the Pens this year because I was there and it was my first game, even the boxing day game just because of everything else that was going on that day made that game memorable. And when we cut Washington's 14 game winning streak short.

swimmerpuck
In very recent memory................. Game Six vs. Pittsburgh I don't think too many people realistically gave the Habs a chance with the D core decimated again and this one being another elimination game against the defending Stanley Cup champions. Markov was out. Gill was out. Spacek was going to play after being dizzy for about two weeks. Bergeron was going to play a lot of minutes. Subban was finding his way. Hamrlik and Gorges were just trying to survive after leading the Habs in TOI respectively for the year. After the second Cammalleri goal that tied the game was a two minute ovation I'll never forget. I could only watch from the couch some of it but to actually be there must have been incredible. And then Dizzy Spacek gets the go ahead goal. That win was just great and of course set up game 7. Cammalleri had his rifle in motion and Laps scored a sweet one too. Loved that game.

CANADIENS27
I agree with Larry Launstein about the 1976 Finals. Those Philadelphia teams gave the impression they were looking for fights and the Russians derided their style as "animal hockey." Maybe I'm wrong on this, but imtimidation tactics are a way to cover up a lack of talent.

Mathradio
Brian Burke and the Leafs. These Bay Street Bullies... if they somehow resorted to combat to get to the playoffs (even if it meant playing the Bruins or the Habs) they will be hated more than Philly is today. Also, Games 6 and 7 vs. Pittsburgh, as well as 5, 6 and 7 vs. Washington who demonstrated that, once again, the 2009-2010 Canadiens worked properly only under pressure. Honorable mention to the Habs 6 - 5 comeback victory over the Rangers after being down 5 - 0. To think a couple of those losses were to the Oakland Seals and LA Kings who were last place teams.
