CANADIENS27
Detroit benefits from Green Bay shooting itself in the foot in an 18-16 win, its first at Lambeau field since 1991. Neither offense was able to stay on the field in the first half and neither defense was able to get off the field in the second half. Packer quarterback Aaron Rogers missed open receivers and had passes dropped. Green Bay had difficulty getting pressure on Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, though better than their two previous games, and could not register a sack for the third straight game. Their offensive front line had problems protecting Rogers until the fourth quarter when the Lions began playing soft. Detroit benefitted from special teams returning the second half kickoff 104 yards and scoring from the Packer 2 on the next play. But it was the kicking game that nearly did in Detroit as Matt Prater missed both extra points. Blown coverage and costly penalties help Green Bay score its second touchdown. Detroit got enough pressure on Rogers to break up the two point conversion attempt, but Calvin Johnson would mishandle the onside kick. Mason Crosby's 52 yard field goal attempt was poorly kicked and actually split two Detroit defenders allowing the Lions to escape with the win. CANADIENS27
Detroit takes control of the line of scrimmage in the fourth quarter to take an 18-13 win over Oakland. Dropped passes, poor tackling, and defensive lapses contributed and that allowed Detroit to run out the final 7:31 after the Raiders were flagged for holding in the end zone resulting in a safety. Matthew Stafford took advantage of the lapses to find open receivers and run for 75 total yards. Detroit hurt its cause being unable to finish drives forcing them to settle for field goals. CANADIENS27
The NFL is investigating whether correct concussion protocol was followed by the St. Louis Rams after a late hit on quarterback Case Keenum. Keenum was slowing getting up and was wobbly when he did stand and was allowed to remain in the game. It would be obvious it was it least a mess up.
