Cleveland loses quarterback Josh McCown, along with its sixth straight game, for the season with a broken collarbone. Will Hill picked up a blocked 51 yard field goal attempt and rumbled 64 yards to give Baltimore a 33-27 win over a Browns team that has completed a transition to the Clowns. Special teams, blown coverage, and missed tackles hurt Cleveland.

Detroit blows a 20-0 third quarter lead with poor execution, a costly penalty, and sitting on its heels in 27-23 loss to Green Bay on a 61 yard hail mary pass on the game's final play. Green Bay got a second chance when Detroit was called for a facemask penalty and appeared to have gotten away with a pass interference penalty. Poor tackling and blown coverage contributed to the collapse.

Philadelphia 35 New England 28. Special teams and defense prove to be the difference. A blocked punt returned 24 yards for a touchdown tied the game at 14-14. An 83 yard punt return and a 99 interception gave the Eagles two scores in the third quarter. Both interceptions by Tom Brady were passes thrown into double coverage. Dropped passes by the Patriots helped seal their fate.

St. Louis 21 Detroit 14. Missed tackles, big plays allowed by the defense played an important role. Matthew Stafford also missed open receivers and was sacked three times which stalled drives. An underthrown pass by Stafford was returned 58 yards for a St. Louis score. Detroit was also not able to stop a Rams drive after a punt return for a touchdown was called back on holding penalty. A 49 yard run set up another Rams touchdown.

Detroit benefits from the playing most porous and worst tackling defense to take a 35-27 over New Orleans. Blown coverage gave Detroit three touchdown passes against a defense that is last in passing yards per attempt, most touchdown passes allowed, and pass completions of at least 40 yards. The Lions' league rushing game got 150 yards against the league's worst rush defense in total yards and yards per attempt. Ill timed penalties at the end of the first half proved to be the difference as the Saints had two touchdowns from inside the Detroit 5 yard line called back because of penalties. Another failure inside the red zone resulted in a missed field goal. A short New Orleans punt from deep in its own territory allowed Detroit to take advantage of the short field. Detroit has difficulty putting away opponents as New Orleans was allowed to comeback from a 28-3 deficit to pull within 28-20 and needed an onside kick recovery to maintain the lead.
