Seattle 10 Minnesota 9. Seattle makes enough plays and forces Minnesota to settle for field goals in a game played in sub zero weather. A Minnesota fumble at its own 40 yard line allowed Seattle to kick the goal ahead field goal. A defensive lapse by the Vikings allowed Russell to recover a botch shotgun snap and found Tyler Lockett who was forgotten when the defense was fixated on the loose ball. A missed 27 yard field goal by Blair Walsh with 22 seconds left sealed the win.

Green Bay 35 Washington 18. Green Bay took over the line of scrimmage in the second half and effectively ran the ball.

Cincinnati linebacker Vontaze Burfict has been suspended for the first three games of the 2016 season for targeting Pittsburgh wide receiver Antoine Brown, whom Adam Jones accused of faking an injury. Burfict has already been four times this season for dangerous hits on receivers this season.

New England 27 Kansas City 20. Kansas City was unable to stay with New England's receivers. Mismanagement of the clock on the Chiefs' fourth quarter touchdown drive sealed its fate.

Arizona 26 Green Bay 20 overtime. Missed interceptions by Green Bay gave the Cardinals 10 of their points. Blown coverage and missed tackles in overtime allowed Larry Fitzgerald to run 75 yards with a completed pass. He would score on the next play. Both teams had big plays wiped out by penalties.

Carolina 31 Seattle 24. Carolina largely manhandled Seattle in the first half and spent a lot of time in the Seahawks' backfield frocing Russell to run for his life. In the second half, Carolina's offense became conservative and allowed Seattle to begin a comeback from a 31-0 halftime deficit. A fake punt from Seattle's own 23 succeeded, but that drive stalled. The Seahawks would later score on a three yard touchdown pass. Turnovers and a spotty defense, though proved to be Seattle's undoing. Seattle had five of them after finishing the regular season with an NFC low of 16. One of those was an 14 yard interception return for Carolina's second touchdown on a pass that was thrown late and behind Wilson's intended receiver.

Denver 23 Pittsburgh16. Denver takes advantage of the only turnover of the game to score the go ahead touchdown. Pittsburgh running back Fitzgerald Toussaint carried the ball too loosely and was stripped of it and Denver recovered at its 35. A big play and some missed tackles aided the Broncos' scoring drive. The Steelers could not sustain any consistency on offense.

Denver 20 New England 18. New England was unable to handle Denver's defensive front line which forced several off target throws. A missed extra point would force the Patriots to go for two on their final drive. A poor decision by Tom Brady resulted in the conversion pass being intercepted when another receiver was open in the back of the end zone.

Carolina 49 Arizona 15. Seven turnovers by the Cardinals, some of which gave Carolina a short field, big plays and missed tackles proved critical. Carson Palmer made some poor decisions and missed open receivers one of which would have resulted in a touchdown and another a first down. And Arizona's offensive front line would have problems keeping Carolina out of its backfield.
