Recently retire Eugene Monroe is pushing to have Cannbis use accepted for NFL players. As it stands, NFL has a zero tolerance policy on Cannabis, but opiate use is accepted and even encourage, for managing pain.

Let's break this down, one hand a plant (which NFLers most smoke anyways) is not accepted, but opiates, which are known to have severe physical addiction associated with it, is accepted and again, encouraged. Problem is, most of these players don't stop taking pills once their careers are over, so they basically enter their retirement, as junkies and still addicted to opiates, go figure.
