New York Giants 17 Detroit 6.  Turnovers in the red zone and a failure to recover a Minnesota fumble in the end zone are the key plays.  A fumble by Zach Zenner at the New York four yard line was recovered in the end zone to leave the score 7-3.  Detroit also failed to recover a Giants fumble forcing them to accept an illegal use of hands penalty which the Giants converted into a field goal.  Matthew Stafford was intercepted in the end zone on Detroit's final possession.  New York also forced Detroit to play on a long field twice pinning the Lions inside their own five yard line with long punts.  There was also a failure by the Lions to convert a blocked punt into points and a nonexistent running game.

Dallas 42 Detroit 21.  Dallas takes control of the line of scrimmage in the second half to pull away from a 21-21 halftime tie.  The Cowboys also caught Detroit in the wrong defense at times and took away the deep ball and dared Detroit to do something it doesn't do well - run the ball.  The Lions had two turnovers, one converted into Dallas' go ahead touchdown and got fooled on a trick play that resulted in a touchdown.  Cowboy quarterback Dak Prescott took advantage of lack of a pass rush to pick apart the Lions' secondary.  Matthew Stafford was sacked four times, made other ill-advised throws in the second half, and fumbled in the red zone.

Green Bay 31 Detroit 24.  An accurate Aaron Rogers picks apart Detroit's secondary for four touchdowns. The usual lack of a running attack and a failure to convert also hurt Detroit.  Detroit advances to the playoffs to playoff Seattle due to Washington losing to New York.
