Nine1One
Hawks' Campbell to miss 4-5 weeks with knee injury Saturday, 10.02.2010 / 2:40 PM / News NHL.com Share The Chicago Blackhawks announced on Saturday that defenseman Brian Campbell will miss 4-5 weeks with a sprained knee. Campbell, 31, is entering his third season in Chicago after signing a massive eight-year deal with the club in 2008. He had 7 goals and 31 assists last season and added another 5 points (1 goal, 4 assists) in 19 postseason contests to help the Blackhawks win their first Stanley Cup since 1961. With Campbell out, it is expected that 19-year-old Nick Leddy will make the club out of training camp. Leddy, who was the Minnesota Wild's first-round pick (No. 19) in 2009, had 3 goals and 8 assists for the University of Minnesota last season. He was acquired on Feb. 12 in the deal that sent Cam Barker to the Wild.
