Optional skate yesterday morning...

Coming off Tuesday's 2-0 shutout of the Vancouver Canucks and Thursday night's 3-1 victory in Boston, Canadiens coach Jacques Martin offered his troops an optional practice Friday morning in advance of tomorrow's home game against the Carolina Hurricanes.

A dozen players hit the ice in Brossard: goalies Carey Price (who plays tomorrow for his 15th start in 16 games this season) and Alex Auld and, in no particular order, skaters Scott Gomez, Alexandre Picard, Mathieu Darche, Dustin Boyd, Tom Pyatt, Jeff Halpern, Lars Eller, Maxim Lapierre, Travis Moen and Josh Gorges.

The rest of the team participated in dry-land workouts, notably a little indoor soccer.

Price says last night's win came with a style of game similar to how the Canadiens played during the postseason last year.

Tonight's line-up not announced as of yet...though I'm thinking not much changing for last game vs Boston...coming off 2 huge wins.

LETS GO HABS...GO PRICEY BOY!

Nice GDT. I've been looking forward to this game since before Tuesday's victory against Vancouver. To be honest, and not something I'm at all proud of, I wasn't holding out much hope for the last 2 games, was kind of looking at Carolina as an 'easier' team to take the sting off what didn't happen.

That said, Carolina won't be too happy about getting their arses handed to them and will probably play hungry. We'll need to match their intensity and be ready right at the drop of the puck for Carolina's potentially lethal offense. Still, the Habs haven't allowed more than 3 goals in a game except for Tampa Bay's OT goal back in Game #3.

Looking forward to a good one, either way. Keep the streak going, Team. GO HABS GO!

Carolina is NEVER an easy one for the Habs, no matter where they are in the standings and how they're doing against other teams. It's specially true at the Bell Centre where the Habs have won only 3 times out of the last 11 contests and even then, those wins were in extra time.

Eric Cole (insert RSD fist shaking here) <_<

Loved the GDT FH great

The way we played last game was amazing

Keeping our hopes high our spirits raising

Now we have to do a repeat

Against the Canes can't tolerate defeat

These guys seem to own our ice

So once again it's down to Price

And all the team to play with speed

That's what we really need

We can see the Canes are not slow

But we can beat them, this I know

After we played our last home game

The Canes can see we are not tame

We are so proud of the way you play

So keep it up tonight we pray

These HABS are what we dream they'll be

To win again tonight, speed is the key

Shooting like you did before

with play like that we have to score

AND WIN PLEASE

GO HABS GO :D :D

FH with a Beauty of a GDT! Nice job bud :)

As for these Canadiens, two wins this week, please don't decieve us! Carolina always has their way with us, no matter how good we're playing or how crap they're playing. Skate hard, player harder, cris passes and score three goals and up. That's the only way we're coming away with a W tonight. Let's end the week off on a high note Canadiens. WIN THE GAME DAMNIT <_< *Shakes Fist*

Missing another game tonight. *sigh* :(

I wonder which Cane are going to show up tonight, the one's who win 7-1 and 7-2 or the one's who lose 7-4 and 8-1? Lol! These guys are definitely bi-polar.

You can bet that it will be the ones who are a thorn in the side of the Habs

I'm also curious to see who will ref that game. The Canes seem to never get penalties against us.

Oh, it's going to be one of those types of game, eh? Well, hopefully this new-found confidence the Habs are playing with can give them the leg up

actually, fraser was good for the Habs (except maybe against the laffs) .... the Alain Côté goal was NOT good

fraser was an idiot at times, but he was a fair idiot. If he called something outrageous against the habs you know something equally outrageous was going to be called on the other team.

I hope the habs don't fall asleep during this one. Of all the teams in the East the Canes are a team i hate because for some weird reason, like the Leafs they always seem to give it 150% when playing against us.

Canadiens goaltender Carey Price will be looking for his 10th win of the season on Saturday night.

In what was supposed to be a tough week for the Canadiens, they have made it look easy with two straight wins over quality opponents in the Vancouver Canucks and Boston Bruins. On Saturday night, the Carolina Hurricanes, who always find a way to win in Montreal it seems, visit the Bell Centre coming off an 8-1 pasting. As you would expect, there will be no lineup changes for the Canadiens, meaning Carey Price starts his 16th game of the season and will be looking for his 10th win.
