Montreal @ Carolina

TSN(HD), RDS(HD)

Last 10 -- Montreal 4-5-1; Carolina 5-3-2

Season series -- This is the second of four games between the teams this season. On Nov. 13, Tomas Plekanec had 1 goal and 3 assists in the Canadiens' 7-2 win in Montreal.

Big Story -- The Canadiens need to rebound after dropping the first two games of their seven-game road trip. The Hurricanes would like to get back to their winning ways after Monday's loss to the Lightning snapped their four-game win streak.

Team Scope:

Canadiens -- Coach Jacques Martin benched Andrei Kostitsyn on Tuesday against Dallas to send a message to his team, but it apparently didn't work as the Habs lost 5-2.

"That's five out of six we've lost, so we have to do a better job of sticking with our game plan," team captain Brian Gionta told the Montreal Gazette. "At times we did a good job and had some chances, but we made little mistakes that cost us."

Gionta said the biggest victim of the team's problems Tuesday was goalie Carey Price, who allowed five goals on 17 shots.

"We have to do a better job of tying guys and not letting them through," Gionta said. "Obviously, it's not his fault. We have to do better job in front of him."

Hurricanes -- The Hurricanes hope to have Cam Ward back in net, but that decision will be up to a dermatologist.

Ward sat out Monday's game against the Lightning due to an infection above his eye. He had some swelling in the area and the fear was having the area rubbed by his goalie mask would make the situation worse. The swelling subsided during the day, and Ward was able to serve as the backup to Justin Peters, but he was scheduled to see a doctor Tuesday.

"We think Cam will be fine in the next day or two," GM Jim Rutherford told the Raleigh News and Observer.

Who's Hot -- Canadiens forward Michael Cammalleri had his seven-game point-scoring streak snapped Tuesday. He had 5 goals and 3 assists in that span. … Hurricanes captain Eric Staal has 5 points in his last four games, and on Monday was named the NHL's Third Star of the Week.

The only thing confirmed with regards to the Habs lineup at this point is that Carey Price gets the net.

Come on boyz, you broke the December 23 curse last year against the Canes, we want an encore this year!

Your GDT CRB is one of the best

But how can you compare it to all the rest

Every bodies GDT's are great

To see if it's a winner I can't wait

Your gringy ref is just so true

But there's nothing about it we can do

RSD I had to laugh at your Blob

Lets just hope he does a good job

Now I think our team needs a lift

So I am writing this rhyme as a gift

In hope's it gets their spirits up

To get us back on track to the cup

The HABS are the best team there has ever been

The best sports team the world has ever seen

You can keep your Man U or Liverpool

They are good just not as cool

There are many countries where football is God

But they just run on earth and sod

Ferrari has a team that's just so fast

But against our Habs they couldn't last

The best rugby team are the NZ All Blacks

Compared to the HABS they are just hacks

The West Indies go on about their cricket eleven

But they can't lift you to seventh heaven

The Yanks go on about the Red and White Sox

But for me you can leave them in a box

They play a game called football below the line

But not one of those teams compare to our HABS so fine

In India they play a game called field hockey

I would rather watch a horse race and cheer a jockey

In China the love a game called Ping Pong

Not too boring but really long

When you see our HABS out on the ice

You must admit there is nothing quite so nice

But we have come into a kind of slump

We need a jump start to get over the bump

Now tonight we play a team called the Hurricane

Now this team to us is a bit of a bane

Against this team we need to get started

They are so full of wind, you'd think they f*****

Now we have to get out their and really play

We can't let our hopes get blown away

GO HABS GO :D :D
