The Guardians

If you haven't seen it already its on Canadiens.com videos, looks kinda interesting but cheesy for the all star game.

It's not only for the ASG. They'll make comics series out of this. They're using the ASG for the launch. :)

I kinda like the idea and so far my favorite Guardian is the Jersey Devil. Flyers fans are mad that they gave their guardian angel wings

I dunno folks... I'm been no stranger to comics over the years, but this looks pretty cheesey even by those standards :P.

On the topic of weird hockey marketing ideas, does anyone remember a few years ago when the CBC aired a mini-series on HNIC about a time in the future when hockey was played by robots and the last team of human superstars was trying to take on the robot cup champions?

Remember that cartoon ProStars from the 90s that had Gretzky and Michael Jordan? Probably not, there were like three episodes of it, and for a good reason :P .

I am morbidly curious as to what The Canadien will be. But he should definitely have Richard's hair.

Sorry Folks,,,,,I just don't understand it, but I'm not surprised an American sports network came up with it. They are probably trying to get the younger generation into hockey, trying to make it like a comic book/video game.

Hockey Superheros? No Thanks. Just broadcast the game and forget the cheerleaders, gimmicks etc.

Yeah I started the topic but I kind of agree with you, I think it must have been alot better watching hockey in the 50's 60's 70's 80's and a bit in the 90's but its gotten really commercial.

First part of the 90s. The second part, well...

Ugh.
