uncivilengineer
Game 52 of the Season - Time Is Running Out and Another Freakin' Back to Back! 9:00pm Newfie - 8:30pm Atlantic - 7:30pm Eastern - 6:30pm Central - 5:30pm Mountain - 4:30pm Pacific Shown On: RDS Tonight's game features the 7th place Canadiens (obviously) VS The 11th place Panthers At the Bell Centre Previously, in hockey....(read: last night) The Canadiens came off with a hard earned win against the Capitals with a 3-2 win in the shootout. Captain Gio gets two goals and the game winner in the shootout. The Panthers also played last night and came off with a loss of 4-3 in the shootout against the Maple Laffs (who by the way has a guardian that makes tasty syrup for their waffles). Of note, former Canadien Chris Higgins didn't score in the shootout to keep the Panthers alive..... figures. What it means.... With a shootout loss last night the New York Rangers sit at 62 points while the Canadiens sit at 61 points. A win or a tie will results in the Canadiens taking 6th place as the Rangers have played one more game. Rangers do not play again until Thursday vs the Devils, while the Canadiens will play another back to back weekend with the Rangers on Saturday, and the Devils on Sunday. So, we meet again.... The last time these two teams met was on New Year's Eve that resulted in a 3-2 OT win for the Canadiens. Prior to that, the Canadiens and Panthers met on October 30 that resulted in a 3-1 win for the Panthers. Projected Lines Same as the Capitals game, can't see much wrong with it after they clicked after the haze of the week break wore off. Only question is whether or not Mr. Price plays or whether Bald Auld will take a shot at Panthers, either way it should be a show. As for the Panthers, well, who cares about their lines, but it is almost guaranteed that Vokoun will be playing in net.

BigTed3
Coming off a win in a SO, I'd be inclined to throw Auld in tonight. He's had a long layoff and he needs to show he can bounce back. The Panthers also played an OT game last night, so there's no excuse for coming out any more tired than them and the key game I want Carey fresh for is against the NYR. Auld needs to show he can put away weaker teams like Florida to keep us in the playoff picture.

He didn't get the rest others might have gotten over the All Star Break so it makes sense to start Auld. Florida tends to be pretty strong after a loss, or at least stronger than we are after a win. I hope the Team can come out quickly, get on the board early and often, and stifle any early potential Panther momentum. It's painful watching them play from behind or trying to nail-bite their way to a one-goal win.

jennifer_rocket
Two wins coming out of the All-star break would be nice. Also, is that O'B I see in the gameday thread photograph?

Guest archey
i'm still pretty fed up with myself. how can a guy who makes such comments as i possibly refer back to a team that takes penalties the way it seems to go from game to game? i'm really hoping this engineering thing has something to it. i like threads like this. roy_133
We beat a good team last night in satisfying fashion. I think we all know a disappointing, no effort loss is inevitable here.
Mely1950
I too agree that Alex auld should get the start tonight.Carey Price had no down time during the All Star break and we need to know if Auld can play a solid game or 2 down the stretch.I am also thinking that florida just might play their backup goalie tonight.Lets hope that the Habs come out flying and score a couple of goals to break the ice. These come from behind wins are too much for my old ticker. Draxx88
I always get a bit nervous when they get a few early goals in. They tend to always lay up a bit, try to sit on the lead and get steamrolled in the second.

Clemmenson played last night, so we'll definitely see Vokun in net tonight. HIO just confirms that Bauldy Auldy will start in net tonight. maddienmike
Great GDT Uncivilengineer I can't rhyme with that my brains not clear Lets hope like mine your first is a winner It seems there is luck in being a beginner I should not be worried about the game tonight But the Panthers seem always to have us in their sight Although of stars they don't have any Of hard workers they seem to have many In the league there is no harder worker Than our guy Pleks, long may he prosper But we really need to cut him some slack So come playoff time energy he won't lack Now it's every game that counts So we up our points, that the total mounts We have no time to let go and relax We have to pay our dues just like tax So come on guys give it all you've got From now on we expect a lot GO HABS GO :D
Breathe
Let's hope his start on home ice this time goes better than his debut. Not that you can do much worse than losing your team's 4-0 advantage in under 9 minutes. (For FS)
