Nick-Habs4Life
Markov and Gorges are out for the year,,,,,there's the cap space. That isn't a long term solution. Once Markov and Gorges come back we need to get rid of the extra cap room.
markmws
While I did not like the fighting in the second period, I tolerated it. But that third period was just stupid. That Bruins team rivals (maybe even surpasses) Philadelphia and Pittsburgh as the dirtiest team I have ever seen. I hate Ferrance punching Moen when he was down. I hated how they punched Spacek and Hammer even though they were obviously defenseless. That's just dirty. And Cammper was such a joke. What a dirty team....I was really actually getting physically angry watching this game today. And our d tonight was a joke, just a joke. PK waving at that puck in the first was embarrassing: it was like watching mites on ice. Without Price, the score could have been 12-6. But kudos to team that, although out classed physically, wouldn't be pushed around. Alot of heart, much more then a team in Boston ever will have... On a different note, I've read a few post (I'm not going to say who said them) that said some pretty bad things about America, and I got to say that that's even more sad then the game itself. Look, I don't like certain hockey teams and certain hockey fans too, but that's not a country, that's just the fans of a particular team. I am not a jerk at games, like some other people. I am an American and I am really really really REALLY proud to be one. That's not a knock on Canada: I love Canada actually, and I'm sure there are people in Canada that are just as stupid and nieve and ridiculous as people in Boston and Philly or any other American city. I visit Boston often, and for the most part I think they have great, classy fans (not as classy as I think Montreal has). Maybe it's different at Bruins games, but they are nothing but class at Red Sox and Patriots games, even to opposing team fans. Philly can sometimes be a different story (ha). But to bad-mouth America is just wrong and, frankly, its stuping to the level of people that we are really aiming the barbs at.
RSD
It's not an "Enforcer" we need its toughness , grit and grinder we need , not a goon , Lucic is not a goon , he had 2 goals tonight , Just like Martins thinking , "tough" is not only the ability to throw down , and please don't ever use the Leafs as a messuring stick they are full of "Truculence , and " Suckulence" LOL 1) I was replying to the OP's suggestion that we need a Colton Orr or Chris Niel. 2) Tell me where we're going to get a Milan Lucic from? PG can't just go out there and say hmmm I want Lucic give him to me. The league is not overflowing with Milan Lucic's is it?
Breathe
I am not disagreeing that we can be better and have proven it but its games like these that convince me, just like the playoffs versus Philly, that we cannot defeat teams like this in the playoffs in a series. As soon as Philly and Boston get dirty there is not a damn thing we can do about it. Do I like getting smacked around? No way, but I think we either need to toughen up big time and stop this lunacy or teams like the Bruins will hammer and hammer repeatedly until they drag us in the penalty box and all hell breaks loose like tonite... Have you said anything positive tonight? Seriously we've already beat Boston 3 times this season, once more win would mean we would have beaten them in a best-of-7 series. We are clearly able to beat them, and this game was a freak accident that will probably not happen for another 5 years or more.

I actually think we completely agree. I'm with you. I am really sorry if I was uncivil. Tonight was kinda bad for us all. Once these scumbag teams start running us, we can't win. Fight back? We get ejected, and hit in the face with elbows. Turtle? We get diving calls, hit in the face with elbows, and non-calls on goalie interference. I don't know what the solution is... this is why I'm not a professional in this field.
habby67
Your taking 1 game and saying the season is lost. We need to step back and take a breath here. ITS ONE GAME. Lets not pack up and fold the season based on 60 minutes of hockey. We need to step back and analyze things big time. This happens way too often. One game it is but it is a glaring deficiency for our squad. It reminds me of the 70s and the Philly/Habs match where we brought up the thugs. When you can defend yourself then other teams wont take their liberties out on you. If that game way back then wasnt a testament to that then I dont know what is. We have the skill to beat them but they keep pounding on us like school yard bullies and we are toast..

What proof is there that the Flyers would have beaten the talented teams like Washington and Pittsburg with their big tough team?? Did they win the Cup last year after we took out those teams for them?
