BigTed3
So far so good. Cammy and Pleks, Subban and Gio, Darche and Hamr and Gill came to play so I'll take it. A few points: - Pollock made the right call on the no-goal to Gionta in that he did blow the whistle first. Right call, but bad refereeing. That puck wasn't close to Thomas and if the ref is in the right position (closing in on the goalie as the shot is made), then it's 2-0 Habs right now. - Haven't been impressed with the linesmen throwing us out for very very little int he face-off circles. Again, they want to be the stars but it's enough with the power trip. - Two weak calls at the end. AK pushed Ryder, but there was nothing there to call a hook. Ditto for the Bergeron call. Minimal contact. In both cases, the ref was way down the ice and not in a good position to make those calls. - Spacek is still struggling out there. He's out of position and his clearing attempts are weak. Anyone who thinks he's worth his 3.8M salary next year better think again. PG will have trouble dumping Gomez but he absolutely has to find a way to trade Spacek. - Our 4th line consists of 2 rookies and a 2nd year player. Imagine Tom Pyatt being the veteran on the line! It means we're going to be going 3 lines most of the night, and that means Eller better be feeling well. I'm disappointed to see JM didn't come back with Pouliot last game although I can understand him wanting a 7th D man in tonight with Mara, Sopel, and Spacek in there. I'd almost at this point rather have Weber back there than Spacek.
