Sometimes Good Things Happen

Here's what happened to me. Kinda long.

I own a Motorcycle, :) ,,a large cruiser and I park it in the apartment parking lot with my truck,( along with 25-30 other vehicles), I also live in an building, that houses, many young immigrants, and some let's say "unsavory" people. Now here is what happened.

I was going out one morning (about 10 days ago), and found a plastic bag tied around the kickstand of the bike. Opened it up and found a note basically saying that,,,,,I am sorry but I hit your bike last night and am very sorry about it. I will pay for any damages. He had his/a phone number on the note as well.

Sure I thought. <_<

So, I took the cover off and had a look-see. The kickstand was bent, and the front fender had scratches on it as well as being bent. I figured about $300-$500 worth, and who has that type of cash around here?

Long story short, I was installing the fender today,,,and the guy came out,,,asked about the fender,,,and asked how much. I told him about $280. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a wad of cash, and gave me $300 in 50s, and told me to keep the change. I think if it was anyone else but him, I wouldn't see a penny. :(

Kickstand $83,,,Fender $200,,,,,,,,,,,Honesty,,,,,,Priceless. :)

Any other stories of good deeds out there?

One day, I went to Wendys and they said pull up to the first window. No one was there, drove to second window. They gave us our food and went to see why no one was at the first window. We got our food for free :D

Oh,,,but did they give it to you compliments of Wendys?

  • 1 month later...

When my kids were small we had no money, but I had to get my son a pair of shoes,so I took him to a shoe shop in England where I lived. At the time there were some shoes called Trackers, they had animal prints on the soles, and my son wanted them so badly but they cost too much money, but he didn't cause a fuss because he knew we couldn't afford them. The manager of the shop was really nice and said if I would like to wait around for 5 minutes until they closed he would buy them with his staff discount and I could them buy them from him.

This is just one of the really nice things that have happened to me in my life.

GO HABS GO

Good things never happen.

Don't be too much of a skeptic,,,good things happen all the time.. They happens to all kinds of people, from all walks of life, all the time.

Today a friend and I were riding my MC about 40 mi. from home. The forcast called for T-showers late afternoon. We left for home figuring on 1 stop and then home. Clouds came in,,(forget the stop), very dark and I gave the MC all she could handle. 65-70 MPH whenever I could. We got home, covered the bike and got inside just as it started pouring.

I consider that a good thing. :)

I don't know the person who did the last renovation in my powder room. And I consider that a good thing for them, because I would probably hurt them for doing such a crappy job.

When my wife and I first moved to NZ with our 20 month old daughter we went into the local bank to open bank accounts etc. The teller asked us when we arrived in the country, we said yesterday, she asked how our daughter was copiing with jet lag, and we said her body clock was all over the place and she had a difficult first night, especially without her cot which wasn't arriving for another 4-6 weeks (via a shipping container from UK), and that our next stop was to go and get a travel cot to tide her over until her own one arrived. The bank teller said be here tomorrow, i'll bring one in for you, no need to buy. So we went in the next day, and right enough she'd brought one in for us....bearing in mind that we were total strangers I thought it was a really nice gesture!!!!

Another time, a long time ago, when I was back packing around Europe, I was on the Paris underground on a really stinkin' hot day. I was on the platform waiting on my train, heavy rucksuck on my back. My train was taking ages and the platform was getting busier and busier (there were lot's of tanoy announcements in French, a language I had no knowledge of, but I later found out that a strike of the railway workers had just been announced and the system was grinding to a halt). Any way, there I was, on a crowded platform, heavy pack, stinkin' hot day..... I was roasting, sweat was pouring down my face. Next thing a very attractive French girl came up to me and started wiping my brow, i thought wow where did that kind act come from!!!! As the trains had stopped working and I couldn't get to my next destination she invited me to stay at her place, another really nice gesture, so yeah, sometimes good things happen.
