Habs Broadcasts 2011-12

Recommended Posts

Looks like even fewer CBC/TSN games for us unfortunate Americans on CI. Thanks a ton, NHL Network. HNIC was the only thing worth watching on it.

I think it's dumb that in 2011, just because I live in the US there's nobody that wants to take my money and let me watch RDS and TSN on my TV. I understand there's a million licensing and legal problems with international media concerns. That's fine, just take more of it to fix any problems. I would pay a lot to never have to listen to the awful tools you get on most teams' announcing crews. Argh! It's getting to the point that I'm seriously considering buying a Canadian satellite dish and having the bills sent to a friend in Ottawa so I can get RDS. :(

RDS will telecast the Canadiens exhibition opener – against the Dallas Stars at the Bell Centre – on Sept. 20.

Fans will be able to watch seven of the team’s eight pre-season games on RDS.

The only omission is the Sept. 23 game in Ottawa.

Maybe they’re worried about Pierre Houde’s vocal cords. The game at Scotiabank Place is the Canadiens’ third in four nights.

RSD is doing that one.

will they be showing them online?

RDS broadcasted online only for the 2009-2010 season. I asked them last year if they would do it again and they said that's not in their immediate plans. So I dont know for this year, I haven't seen anything to that effect yet. If I had to bet, I'd say they wont.

Can I watch the games online on RDS or TSN? I dont have a tv in my room so the next best thing would be to watch them online on my laptop when I cant watch them on the big screen TV.

If you're Canadian you can at least watch every Saturday night game online. The CBC broadcasts them on a pretty good feed, even if they're not showing in your aeea on TV

TSN TO BROADCAST 30 REGIONAL CANADIENS GAMES THIS SEASON

Toronto, ON - One of the NHL's most storied franchises once again takes centre stage on TSN, as Canada's Sports Leader delivers regional coverage of 30 Montreal Canadiens games to fans in the team's broadcast region, including Quebec, Atlantic Canada and parts of Eastern Ontario.

The games will be available to Shaw Direct customers on Channels 448 and 392 in High Definition and on Channel 135 and 467 in Standard Definition. TSN's regional Canadiens games continue to be available on Bell TV on channels 1402 in HD and 402 in SD.

TSN's regional coverage of the Canadiens kicks off Thursday, Oct. 13 with an all-Canadian match-up featuring Calgary at Montreal at 7:30pm et/4:30pm pt. Highlights of the Canadiens' regional schedule on TSN include nine games against other Canadian clubs and three games versus the Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins.

Calling the majority of Canadiens regional games on TSN this season are play-by-play commentator Dave Randorf and game analyst Mike Johnson.

TSN's regional games complement the 15 Montreal match-ups that were previously announced as part of TSN's 151-game national NHL broadcast package. In addition to TSN's Canadiens coverage, the network's French-language counterpart, RDS, will broadcast the Montreal Canadiens' entire 82-game regular season schedule, plus the playoffs and the Stanley Cup® Final.

Bell Media's THE TEAM 990 in Montreal also has live coverage of all Canadiens pre-season, regular season and playoff games as the official radio voice of the Habs. In the broadcast booth for all Canadiens games on THE TEAM 990 is play-by-play commentator John Bartlett.

That makes 73 games televised in english for the Habs region! For the three Senators-Canadiens games, it will be double coverage in the same region and shown on three channels with RDS. I wonder if there will be areas blacked out from either english channel. My guess would be the Maritime provinces and Ontario would have the TSN regional channel blacked out and Quebec would have Sportsnet East blacked out.
