THEBIGGESTHABSFAN123
Gorges isn't a "fringe" top 4 guy anymore. So we should stop calling him that. We have 3 top 4 guys. Kaberle still might prove to be a top 4 guy, and Emelin might surprise.

Kaberle still might prove to be a top 4 guy, and Emelin might surprise. I'm pleased with the way Gorges has been playing, but to me, he's a #4 guy, not more. I wouldn't build a team around him nor do I think he has the offensive capability to be a top pairing guy. So yeah, he's a top 4 guy, but he's a fringe guy, just like Emelin. Both can be guys in the top 4, but you need to have better players to surround them with. We've seen this year what happens when you have Gorges on the 1st pairing and not enough else to support him with.

He's not overly big, he plays tough and blocks a ton of shots. He's a real good 2nd pairing guy but anymore is stretching it IMO.

I think the original poster was just saying let's drop the good #5, fringe #4 talk which I think is reasonable given what Josh has shown.

MIASUN
I'm still shocked to see guys like Blunden and Nokelainen playing instead of Blake Geoffrion. I simply do not understand our organization anymore LL gets 12 mins which is decent Palushaj less than ten and BG in the pressbox so that Blunden and Noke can split 18mins. I simply don't get how this is not the lineup: Pax DD Cole Bourque Plekanec Eller Geoffrion Leblanc Palushaj Staubitz White Blunden Or swapping Eller and LL. It makes no sense to me. I can't wait for this season to end I just hope we salvage it with a top 4 pick. Otherwise, this was 7 wasted months of all of our lives.
weepingminotaur
Lines that I'd use now that Gauthier is gone and the season is over: Pacioretty-Plekanec-Eller Geoffrion-Desharnais-Cole Bourque-Leblanc-Blunden White-Nokelainen~Darche!!~ (when healthy) Emelin-Subban: First pairing minutes the whole way. I want to see if Emelin can handle it. Markov-Gorges (Josh played the right side effectively with Gill a while back): Going forward, this should be our real second pairing. Josh wears down in a top-two role, and I don't think Markov can be a no. 1 guy again. St. Denis-Weber: Any pairing that pressboxes Campoli is okay in my book. And... umm... Youppi's best suited to be behind the bench as HC. Then both the French and English media would have equal room to speculate on what he actually meant in his post game pressers. I was thinking AK, he always seemed to like Molson (or at least his product). Youppi would be a good.coach, you have a point. I think Youppi for HC, pencil in Mulder as the 1st line LW for now. Maybe instead of re signing Staubitz we could just have Timmins as our enforcer? We have a lot of good talent in the organization, our depth at forward is awesome. 29 other teams would kill to have Youppi in his prime, and we can afford to put him behind the bench.
