WinnipegJet
Upset with the recent play of the team? This is your place to rant, vent, and complain about the Habs (within the Forum Rules, of course). Please remember to keep it civil, and let's hope this thread won't be too active this year! habstransactiongenius
Only negative is that they haven't reinforced the bottom 6 of the line up yet. We need at least 1 more hopefully 2 grinding impact guys to improve aand add some depth

habstransactiongenius
The defense worries me. I agree, Yemelin and weber have not yet proven themselves and maybe a guy like Mara would resign for cheap. He came here twice so he must enjoy it. He isn't a bad d-man, he is a veteran, he is big and hits, he isn't gifted offensively but as a 7th or 8th guy, I think he could have an impact on the younger guys and can step in if someone gets hurt or the youngsters don't play up to par. At this stage we need to add depth, we will have 5 million after Gorges and White sign so why not spend around 3.5- 4 million on it with depth. 0.9k to Winchester, 0.9k to Sutherby, 0.9k to Boulton and 0.75k to Mara. I wouldn't be against a very cheap under 1 million signing of Mara, if he doesn't mind spending time in the pressbox. Technically he only came here willingly once, he got traded the second time lol

maddienmike
I don't understand the meaning of this thread The negative is when your dead When you can no longer hear a bird sing Or see it's colors on the wing When there is no grass to be green When all the horrors can be seen When all the hope has dissapeared When even light has to be feared How can anyone negative be When they can laugh and hear and see Perfection is something we all seek The strong, the cold, the warm and the meek But that is not something we can attain So we all have to remain Doing the best that we can to survive How is that a negative,at least we are alive Our team isn't perfect that's what makes it fun How boring it would be if every game we won Without even trying, without breaking a sweat I couldn't take that, nor could you I would bet But we can all hope our team can play At getting better everyday GO HABS GO  I think some one should ask Pk about negativity

FirstStar
I'm happy with our forwards... Not 100% satisfied, but happier than I've been in the last few years. We got a top 6 winger in Cole to help on the Pleks line. We also have Patches coming back, hope he picks up where he left off last season. My only cause of concern and I believe it's a concern for most... Is our defense. Hammer's departure is going to leave a bigger hole than people realize. And that'll become very clear if Markov goes down again. Well, it's only for a season and if we do finish low in the standings, we'll just get a better draft pick in 2012. Sorry, find it hard to be negative. I try to find the good in every thing.

ColRouleBleu
Penalties for too many men: hopefully part of the summer training included 1st grade arithmetic. If not here it is: 1 goalie + 2 d-men + 3 forwards = 6 guys with same color jerseys on the ice, not

CANADIENS27
Markov's past knee problems is why I liked the idea of loading up on defensemen in the draft. He'll need to be replaced down the road anyway. Hamrlik's departure further magnified the need for drafting defensemen this year.

True, but it's quite possible the only one in our entire prospect pool that makes the NHL is Nathan Beaulieu. I have no idea how Jarred Tinordi's learning curve is developing. Brendan Nash looks okay down in Hamilton. His audition last year went okay, as well. However, do any of these guys look capable of replacing Markov in a few years? Markov is a pretty special player to have to replace.

Out the five defensemen we drafted, including Yemelin, we realistically can only hope one, and that may be Beaulieu, pans out.

I think we will see Yemelin work out. In what capacity? I do not know. Worst case scenario, Yemelin should be a decent 5th-6th D-man in the NHL. I believe he's already shown that he's a competent defender in the KHL. That counts for something. Players like Nathan Beaulieu, Jarred Tinordi, Brendon Nash, Mathieu Carle, are sketchy. I have no idea if any of them will make the NHL as decent players. I am hopeful for our new draft choice Beaulieu, however!
Habsturies
I don´t understand the dudes about Yemelin. KHL is a stronger league than AHL.And Yemelin was a star defenseman in the KHL,member of the Russian national team. In the worst scenario could be an 5/6 D level. In a reasonable thinking is a potential 3/4 D level. In an optimist scenario who knows.
