Manatee-X
And yet Cooke's still cashing a paycheck. Bogus.
beaubie
He may be a Bruin but I actually feel really bad for him. It's quite sad really. It's things like this that I try not to think about. I know it is important to a degree but it makes me reflect on things at a bigger level and it makes me wonder about the game that I love. Maybe moreso about the league the the actual game of hockey.

Maybe moreso about the league the the actual game of hockey. I don't think any of us really want any player to suffer an injury or condition that affects his life away from hockey. The two issues, other than Savard's actual health, that come up are 1. The failure of the NHL to severely punish Matt Cooke or other repeat/dangerous offenders 2. The hypocrisy of the Bruins to act as one of the dirtiest teams in the league and throw dangerous head-shots themselves despite seeing the consequences of this on one of their teammates. Colin Campbell once called Savard a faker but I think it's clear here that Savard isn't faking the degree of damage to his brain (no matter what Dr. Recchi's non-medical diagnosis is), while Campbell himself has been rightfully run out of his job for failing to protect the players from such injuries. Guest
Give the guy some credit for trying to get back to the game. One head shot too many. Pity.
