I sorta have no choice but to activate this thread. (shame on you FS to create it in the first place! :P )

Injury status after day 1 of camp:

Gomez, day to day - leg - should play pre-season

White: day to day - groin - should play pre-season

Eller: shoulder rehab - no contact practice - should play Oct 6

Markov: knee rehab - solitary skating - aims to play Oct 6, could be a little bit later

I saw the hit live on saturday and for a few seconds after the hit I thought he wouldn't get up, didn't move. He seemed ok after but yeah, it looks like that :(

Didn't see it but I heard Cole was paying retribution to Conboy for an earlier hit and smoked him from behind. If that's the case, I'm really not impressed with that kind of play from Cole. Yeah, maybe you want to teach the rookie to respect you, but there's no need to throw a dirty hit against your own teammate.

I think the important thing to look at is how many players actually projected to start the season with us are still questionable to make it back on time. Those are

1. Markov

2. Eller

3. White

Gomez, DD, etc. are all dealing with what sound like minor injuries right now but they have plenty of time to get back into the line-up and into game shape. It sounds like Eller is about 7-10 days from resuming full contact and he's already skating in regular practice, so there's a fair chance he'll be ready to start the year, and White will likely be close as well. The real question for us is the timing of Markov's return. At this point, that is the only injury that is really going to affect the strength of our line-up on opening day at this time.
