Manatee-X
I came across this article on HIO and it reminded me of how much Streit bugged me when he first came up and of how much I loved him by the time he left. I don't think he went a single game in his rookie season without having a puck or two bounce over his stick at the blue line, but he certainly improved as time went on and his attitude was always outstanding. It's a shame we let him go, especially considering his comments afterwards about how he would have signed for a lot less here in Montreal than what he got with the Islanders. In any case, Streit is the new captain on Long Island and I can't think of a better guy for the job. http://www.montrealgazette.com/sports/Streit+appreciates+lessons+learned+Montreal/5445607/story.html

I was really pissed off when the Habs let Mark Streit walk away.He was just coming into his own as a fwd/dman.Happy to see him get the Captaincy with the Islanders. He has a good group of young players and he will help with the rebuilding of the Islanders. Constellation
Too bad he is not playing for MTL anymore... Did you see these assists? His vision is second to none! And this after missing all of last season... Game 2 vs. the Wild: Shot Pass 1 Game 4 vs. the Rangers (3rd Isles goal): Shot Pass
