NewfoundlandHab
HIO said it was a lower body injury. The main thing is that it is minor! Might play against the Jets
MIASUN
We need him against the Jets, they will be fired up in the first period and I guarantee we're SH at least twice in the first 10 minutes, we need Betts.
jedimaas
Just heard on CTV news it's a shoulder injury Really? they've been calling it "day to day lower body injury" all along... I know he's tall but "shoulder" doesnt sound like "lower" body to me! I wonder if they (CTV) messed up in typical fashion because he's had a history of shoulder separations. jennifer_rocket
He's out - HIO Lower back injury. Thanks. I didn't know if it might have been something he would be back from almost immediately. I guess we will have to be patient.
S-Bah
When Betts is healthy he will make a huge contribution to the team's overall performance, alleviating the amount of PP goals against.Special team play is huge and a winning faceoff % really helps the teams 5 on 5 play also. WinnipegJet
great pickup cant believe the Flyers gave up on him, he adds everything we need.. a centerman with alot of size and physical presence bring some much needed sandpaper to the 4th line In my opinion, the fact that the Flyers let him go means there's something about him that we don't know yet. My guess is health-related as he is already injured coming over. Maybe he just didn't fit in in Philadelphia, but I think there's more than the eye can see in this situation... It was related to the Salary Cap the Flyers were faced with a catch 22 situation, and Betts was the solution.
WinnipegJet
It was related to the Salary Cap the Flyers were faced with a catch 22 situation, and Betts was the solution. I still don't think it's that. Looking at their roster and cap hits, there are other moves that made more sense to make than moving Betts, with some that were essentially risk-free. The Flyers are up against the cap, yes, but Betts has a very marginal salary to begin with.
Shawn1990
amandacstein Amanda Stein I have it on good authority that the #Habs have sent Blair Betts back to Philly because he did not pass his physical. This was posted on Twitter today. Not sure what's going to come of it, though. As far as I know, you can't put an injured player on waivers like they did with Betts so Philly could be in hot water. jennifer_rocket
Well, that was even faster than Woywitka. Too bad. I was hoping he would be a decent contributor to Montreal once healthy.
beaubie
After he is healthy, or when he can pass the physical can they just, like, send him back? This question isn't entirely serious. I'm just asking if it's possible to get him back in the same fashion as we did previously.
Kindred
After he is healthy, or when he can pass a physical can they just, like, send him back? i would assume he has to go back through waivers again. Not really sure if they would just send him to us since we we claimed him before.
MIASUN
Maybe you should wait to remove him from the system completely, he might end up back here within a week.

He does have a lower body injury and he wouldn't have to clear wavers.

It would be a waste of 1 of our 50 organization contracts.
