Woywitka was placed on waivers so he could be sent to Hamilton, this signing is likely to replace him as depth in Hamilton, organizational depth. RSD
Oh god another marginal depth defensemen, honestly I would have prefered Woywitka over this guy. What makes you think you're going to see this guy play? Campoli is out, so Yemelin gets slotted in. This guy is on his way to Hamilton.

Yeah, this is just to fill a spot in Hamilton. With the loss of Woywitka, the Bulldogs only have 6 defencemen and there's no one in the ECHL under contract with the organization that could come up. Guest Regis2
... the farm must be bleak. Is there any D Man in Hamilton that you think could come up and be a top 3 or 4 ? I don't think so
roy_133
Is there any D Man in Hamilton that you think could come up and be a top 3 or 4 ? I don't think so Well there's not many teams that have guys who could slot immediately into their top 3 or 4 in the AHL but there's definitely a generation gap right now between the young roster players we have on the NHL team and, well basically Beaulieu, who in my viewings looks to have a VERY high ceiling (before someone mentions him, I'm not a huge Tinordi fan but he is noteworthy). It's time to stop trading top 60 picks nonstop, like Toronto in the early part of this decade it doesn't lead anywhere good. Last year was a bit easier to tolerate as Wiz was a steal and the injuries to the backend were pretty excessive but we need to start replenishing. raydourque
Can't Craig Rivet or Paul Mara be picked up for a bag of pucks?
roy_133
Can't Craig Rivet or Paul Mara be picked up for a bag of pucks? Would either veteran be willing to sign knowing it was going to be a 2-way contract so he'd be paid like an AHLer and knowing he's going to end up playing mostly likely all of the season in the AHL? hatethosebruins
I wouldn't be opposed to mara as NHL depth. Only for games against tougher teams. Bottom pairing of Yemelin Mara would look better than Campoli Diaz/Spacek Diaz/Yemelin Diaz or a combo of them.

The problem is we have 8 DMen ahead of where Mara would be, so unless we sent Diaz down and waived Weber, at some point we'd likely be carrying an insane abundance of DMen. I figure Mara would come in handy against Philly or Boston if he played like he did last season. I also assumed Weber would be 4th line forward or such as he was last game, though IM not really a fan of him being there.

Noob616
Whoooo. Hamilton defenseman who will never play for our team! Yay! Not a big deal, Woywitka was claimed, so they signed someone for the AHL team.
