ohh first, common! without disrespect, admit it doesn't look very hot right now.. ;)

Admittedly this is the worst start in over a decade, but I'm not ready to write off the whole season cos of 5 bad games.

Seriously, leaf fans may be delusional, but at least they stick by their team. The leafs are the team who have gone the longest without a cup, yet ever year leaf nation is hopeful.

The Habs have made the playoffs for the last 6 years and to top it off, we finished 6th in the east last season despite the slew of injuries. By the time the season ended, we had about 6 players who were not there on opening night. Acquired throughout the season due to all the injuries.

Where other teams crumbled with all the injuries(avs, blues) our habs battled all the way up to 6th place.

Am I pleased by the start of this season, hell no!

I think it sux, but I had to sit through the dark, post-tremblay/roy era. After going through that (and seeing colorado win the cup with our tender, twice!), this is just a hiccup.

44 years without a cup and they still believe in their team.

Then their GM trades away Rask who's been a good tender for the b's and to make matters worse, they trade their 1st round draft pick for kessel and then finish last(missing out on seguin who's racking up the points for the b's this season).

Kessel's been good, but he's no Seguin.

Despite all that, leaf fans remain faithful and hopeful year in year out.

We could learn a thing or 2 from leaf fans about loyalty.

And if we do finish in the basement, good!

We can land ourselves another top pick and build properly, just look how Carey has worked out for us. We also have gallagher, Tinordi, Bealieu and Leblanc as the future of our habs.

People are already predicting a last place finish after 6 games.

Sad to say, but leafs fans make us look horrible. Despite not making the playoffs in about 8 yeast, they still have faith in their team.

6 bad games to start the season and they're being thrown under the bus.

*sigh*

Agreed. They look really bad out there tonight but there's always hope it's the first month of the season, it's far from over.

Well I don't loose my hope but I am not sure if it wouldn't better taking a real bad season and add a franchise player in the next draft than finishing 8th, 9th or somewhere in the summer golf zone where you only get longterm players.

As much as I agree with you (10000%) I think its just that we expect a certain level of quality year in and year out, leaf fans don't :P

Seriously though, Im fine with finishing in the basement one year. If it happens this year it would probably give Subban and Price less leverage on contracts (based on their play). Also, like you said we gain a pick. Im tired of always resorting to years of mediocrity and building through signing free agents when half of them end up not working out as well as we hoped (gomez BGL, Moen, etc.)

I think you should get a one week ban for complimenting Leaf fans ;)

When you wait 44 years for something, you have no choice but to be patient. We hold our team to a higher standard than the Leafs do. I think a 1-4-1 record isn't the end of the world, it is however, a HUGE deal when 3 of 4 losses have been absolute disgraces.

i think its pretty much come down to that, this could be a lottery season because everything is just delusional right now and its going off the tracks in a big hurry

if we end up not making the playoffs it will show that the real coach all the long was kirk, i didn't even bother watching tonights game and i won't watch until this team starts gelling and winning games, this is not our habbies, we are playing worse than the make-me-laughs. I'm a habs fan until i die but i believe as a fan you must express your discontent with the team even if it is the beginning of the season( how long will we say that).

oh and OCCUUUUUUUPYYYYYYYY BELL CENTRE and all that stuff

Oh I know it is. I get the feeling that he connected and communicated with the players and possibly was a buffer between Martin and the players. I'd love so see a complete turn over in management. The GM, the coach and all the assistants gone with the exception of maybe the goalie coach. That means everyone including Timmins. The team needs a complete overhaul in terms of philosophy and they need to get competent people in charge regardless of language or anything else. Hire people based on credentials for a change. 19 years of complete mediocrity is long enough.

Realistically the season is long and we could end up going on a roll but at this point I just don't have that much hope.

I've posted my displeasure last night FS,...but to I want to say,its not that were writing off THE WHOLE SEASON.

I said a few times that yes,I'm sure & confident that this team will eventually turn things around....no one's jumping ship here....but only voicing our displeasure of the teams performances as of to date.

As a loyal habs fan,we can do that......its not enjoyable at no means to watch this, knowing they can do much better if they really tried...( which I for one am not totally convinced they have been).

Putting aside the injury situation,of course it has a affect.....but as other teams deal with this also,I just don't feel we can always use that as an excuse....is it not the opportunity for others to step up at this time in need???

I for one as you all know follow my habs through thick & thin, always will be right here watching.....hopfully things will turn around & start improving, making it more enjoyable to root on our team, but as this time....they suck, and I take no pleasure in posting that....but it is the truth IMO.

We can root them on....back them them up,praise them & al....but when I continue to watch what I been seeing as of late...their gonna hear about it.

Of course FS its early on in the season, handful of games in hand....2pts per game slipping away each time.....they need to correct things ASAP,because as we all know, squandering these valuable pts early on just maybe, not for sure but possibly could come back to bite us in the butt later on end of the season when were struggling as usual to making the playoffs.

I just want this team to do better as you all do,their capable out there, skilled professionals whom I believe are not really giving their all,but need more motivation or something to start clicking as a team.

Go habs......come on boys,Saturday night's just around the corner.....LETS GETTER DONE......GO HABS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Good Morning Habs fans.....

Well another loss for the Habs!! I have been a Habs fan for 64 years and will never change. I will agree that this is the worst start we have had in a long time however if we go back to 2010 our record at this time was 3-2-1 and in the month of Oct we had 15 pts. We are now at 1-4-1 and the problem I see is exactly as Cammy indicated they are not helping each other out on the ice. There is no consistency and too many individuals trying to do it all. Carey has had a rough start to date and he has to some how get a handle on the goals that are scored between his legs??

However in defense of last nights game the score would have been much higher if were not for some great play on his behalf. He really needs some help in the front of the net and he is not getting it.

What is with Cole? Payed a lot of money for this FA and he has so far been a dud!! Played 14 min last night and that was not the role they had for him when Gauthier picked him up I am sure. This guy has to get going as he is an embarrassment so far. Gomez is a disappointment and the injuries right now are a real detriment. I have never been a big fan of Martin as a coach. I do not like his style of defensive hockey and he does not seem to be able to enable the team to get up for each game. The loss of Kirk Muller was a shock to me and it is really showing in the special teams this year. We had five PP last nigh and no goals. They play better with 4 than they do with the man advantage? And Subban please stop with the big fake on the slap shot from the blue line it is not faking anybody. Just take the shot!!!

Gauthier does not impress me either. Cole is a prime example as is the three year contract with Markov? Markov is a great defense man however with two ACL surgeries in the last year and a half why would you sign him for three years?? He is still not on the ice!!! Everybody seems to think that once the injured player are back things will change? well I do not believe this to be true. Look at last year we had a ll kinds of injuries and made the playoffs and came within one goal of eliminating the Stanley Cup winners!

Not sure what is going on in the dressing room but there needs to be a team meeting and it needs to be now. If that does not work then it is time to say "Good Bye" to both Gauthier and Martin. I am beginning to realize what a Leaf fan feels like and that is not good.

Saturday we have the Make Me Laughs at home and let's all get the rally caps on to enable our Habs to get on victory road. A loss to this cellar dweller team for the second time this year would be one of the lowest points of the Habs existence.

Go Habs Go!!!!!

Time to get this season back on track.

T.O. must suffer Saturday.

skimming through the posts and i saw this

hatethoseleafs i respect you man but if i was a betting man I would be betting on the Leafs steam rolling the habs come Saturday

why? Whenever the Leafs are coming off a huge beating they always ALWAYS play as if the Cup was on the line against the Habs. No matter how good we have been playing , not matter who is on a hot a streak, the Leafs always give it 100% against the Habs and we generally either

1) Lose

2) Barely lose or to put it another way we find some way to mess up the game

3) we barely win ( get lucky and score in OT)

4) Win by a wide margin

My money is is somehwere between option 2 and 3
