Can't stand Burke and his comment, it's obvious the habs selection made him turn red lol.

Yeah, he was trying to trade up, but the Laffs have nothing that was worth budging Edmonton or

Columbus out of there spots. Was actually the best part of the night seeing him be so red, well

knowing it stemmed from us getting Galchenyuk.

Took a deep breath and had a good read on the Leafs board. Was worth seeing the reaction when we picked Gally and again when they picked a D-Man. Too funny.

Burke is so full of himself. Just saw him say he would have picked his player 1st overall if he had that pick. Yeah right.

Burke is a buffoon. Will Rielly be good? quite possibly. Is it likely he's bette than the 4 guys picked before him? Extremely unlikely. But, we all know that burke is unable to sit quietly. If he's not talking, he's not being himself - even if he has nothing to say.

I think its awesome that the leafs yet again picked a defensman - the one position they actually are not too weak at. lol.

Reilly projects as a very good d-man, but for Burke to say they had him at no. 1 on their list is plain idiotic.

When they pick 35th,,,, no doubt he'll be the #2 guy in the draft that just happened to slip down to them.

My thoughts on the draft, so far:

Galtsenuyk was one of the few players, i wanted us to pick, so picking him makes me happy. I projected prior to the draft that we had a good 70% chance in picking him, and i was right. Great pick, franchice player, welcome aboard Alex.

Pierre Gauthier's actions are going to hunt us for years to come. We can all now realize how atrocious was the return for the Cammalleri trade (we could at least fetch another 1st rounder for him) and how poor was Kostitsyn's trade to NSH for a 2nd round pick, the same time that NSH gave up a 1st for Gaustad, off all people. Saying this i think that BUF (Grigersons and Grigorenko!) and WSH (Forsberg and Wilson!) having two 1st rounders, were hands down the winners of the first round. With better management we could have three picks in the 1st round, and everybody would talk about MTL drafting Galtsenuyk, Forsberg and Teravainen at once. What a line...

Rather sceptical, considering the options, of TOR drafting Rielly (was he the best defensemen available?), ANA drafting Lindholm (major gamble, so high), SJS drafting Hertl (i expected him to go later), PHI drafting Laughton (they could of taken him in the 2nd round with their acquired pick from the Bobrovski deal), STL drafting Schmaltz (he seems like a late second rounder to me) and of course the worse pick of the 1st round Jankowski to CGY. Don't get me wrong here, no one can anticipate the potential of this kid, but its a bad pick because CGY could have draft Maata or Gaunce or Samuelsson, in the 1st round, and pick Jankowski with the Sabres 2nd rounder (he would still be there, no doubt).

Pittsburgh made a massive trade in which they lose now but win in the future. Of course J.Staal will resign in Carolina, so the potential return should be more, but PIT had no leverage in the situation. What puzzles me though is that they should have had their picks reversed. I mean Maata should have been the 8th overall and Pouliot the 22th overall. I consider them lucky, when Maata was still there at the 22th spot (they have to thank CGY for this). As for the second trade Michalek to PHX for a 3rd and some mid prospects, it is a disaster. What a claim for PHX getting Michalek and Samuelsson, yesterday, with the only the 27th pick.

As the draft folded, and with the brotherhood formation around as, Sedins at VAN, Staals at CAR, i was rather hoping Malcolm Subban slipping at the 2nd round, so we could form the Subbans at MTL. Who was to spoil the party? The big, fat, hated Bruins, of all teams. Again we should have claimed a late 1st rounder, one way, or another.

For the 2nd round today, i feel that CBJ will take G Dansk with the 31st overall, so we may a good chance at players that potentially could have been late 1st rounders, like Finn, Colberg, Aberg, Frk, Bystrom and Sissons. These are all very decent prospects that are going to get picked at the first 10 spots of the 2nd round, and it would be a blessing if we managed to gain via trade an early 2nd rounder (Weber, Diaz, Plaushaj?), so we can pick two of them. Finn and Aberg would be ideal. As for the NSH's pick 51st overall, lets hope guys like Zharkov, Maidens, Bozon, Hart are available.

A great salut to classy Mr. Bergevin...
