THEBIGGESTHABSFAN123
I guess that's where Brisebois and (forget the other guy) come in at adjusting these guys. Brisebois and Lapointe.
Habitom
Brisebois and Lapointe. Thanks. I knew you would have the answer. I think I'm suffering from info overload. I would like to thank our HAB staff for an excellent draft. Also I thank all you fellow HAB fans for keeping on top of this draft as I couldn't keep up and wasn't always able to be there. You did an excellent job! I really enjoyed the bantering back and forth. It is going to be a good year. Still buzzing about Galchenyuk.
LeFreshMaker
I'm so happy with who we drafted, but I'm a little disappointed to see Matt Finn go to the Leafs...I got a few chances to watch him in Guelph while I was at school and was very impressed with his play. Oh well, you can't draft everybody, you only have so many picks
Habitom
Haha in the mark my words section when our season was at the lowest point I predicted Charles Hudon would be our first pick! (He was rated as a first round talent at the time!) Tell me about Hudon. I'm leary of small players without elite skating but saw that he plays physical which is good. Hope he works out. MMAMIKE1981
Very happy with the players we go. I cant remember when the last time I had this good a feeling after the draft. Gally was in my opinion the best player out there with Yakapov. Collberg was a top 20 on most rankings and is a steal at 33. Thrower is the nasty defenceman we need and has some offence and is a great team guy. Fought Wison who is considered the toughest guy in the jrs to a draw. Also a teammate of Deitz in Saskatoon witch is 1 1/2 hours from where I live. 2 players that wil be in the Memorial Cup next year. Bozon is a big LW that was projected around 35-40 and Vail is a shutdown guy that in time will be a good 3rd liner. Hudson is a small but skilled player from Quebec. I would have loved to get Kerdiles who is good friends with Gally but with Collberg still available I cant complain to much lol... They also apparently tried to trade up for Matteau but couldnt get it done. lookin at how things turned out it might be a goood thing? Over all I am very impressed with the turn out. I think Gally will prove to be best of Draft 2012.Yeah, I'm pretty pumped about the whole management team and draft. I don't think we'll be drafting high next year so I hope our players all make great strides this season so we can make a package for #1 pick next year and draft McKinnon. Can hope you know. weepingminotaur
After Galy, who has the best chance of making it to the big club and how soon? The rest of the draftees are typical prospects. They'll need a few years Hamilton before being they're ready to challenge for roster spots. I'm looking forward to seeing how guys like Beaulieu and Tinordi progress in Hamilton this year. We'll see those guys in Montreal before we see anyone from this draft not named Galchenyuk IMO.
gunnerdunner
After Galy, who has the best chance of making it to the big club and how soon? Tinordi is probably the closest and probably looking at a year in Hamilton. He may get a few games in this year. Then probably Gallagher ferocious small guy had the best camp of any young guy last year probably looking at same time frame as Tinordi. Then Ellis & Bournival followed finally by Beaulieu. I put Beaulieu as the longest because what he has to work on most is his defensive positioning and strength, he has all the tools but i'm afraid that he will be very exposed defensively at the nhl level if he is brought up too soon. I would be very careful with him and look at 2 full seasons in ahl, unless of course his progession is outstanding.
hatethosebruins
kind of like when we nabbed Patches and Ryan McDonagh..... and then we sold McDonagh for some magic beans Scott Gomez is magic beans? Sure he is

I am hoping Tinordi could play next year, but he might benefit from some AHL games first as you mentioned.

If not for his size Gallagher would have probably been kept in MTL last year and will make another big push for a roster spot? Possibly on the 3rd line next to Eller? Tinordi need to work on his foot work IMO but I agree he could see a few games next year. I think he is a year off and could be forced into action due to injuries. Beaulieu is probably the guy that could stick with the team next year unless he looks out of place in camp.He has all the tools and could make an impact at camp. He should probably spend the year in Hamilton though. Ellis should have 1 or 2 years in Hamilton. Bournival is a player that could make the jump this comming season and play along side Eller? Probably better to spend a year in Hamilton as well but could possibly be a player to watch in camp...Gally says he plans on playing in MTL this year but realistically he should probably play another year in Jrs seeing as he missed all last year. He might make it hard to send him back though. Unless we move DD,Plecky or Eller im not sure where he would fit this season. As for the rest of this years picks they will need 2 or 3 years before they are NHL ready. Excited to get the show on the road and let the peices fall where they will. The future got a big shot in the arm here though...

Full article here: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=399084 Often the 2nd and 3rd over-all pick ends up outplaying the 1st overall pick at the pro level. Many were saying gally may have gone 1st overall if it hadn't been for his injury. Think we really lucked out in this years draft. Got some interesting players in the other rounds as well, so nice to finally have a 2nd round pick(think we had 2, didn't we?). Haven't had a 2nd rounder since we picked PK in 2008. Hope he works out. Sadly I knew nothing of him then or now when I predicted it, I just called it because he he is small, French and plays in the Q. But getting him in the 5th round isn't so bad considering he was rated as a top 20 pick when I made my tongue-in-cheek proclamation!
