Andrei Kostitsyn

I tend to agree. He's big, he hits, and he can score. He has a rap for "coasting" but he always seems to end up being one of our most consistent hit-throwers and he ends up a + more than he ends up a -. I'd lie his effort to be more consistent sometimes, but I feel like his talents are under-appreciated because of that.

Id have to say Josh or maybe Ryan white, they have a rep for being Over rated, but I think alot of what they do for this team can't be replaced. Especially in josh, we may be able to find another shot blocking defender but I dont think that guy will ever fully replace Josh both on and off the ice, Gorges seems to be well liked and respected in the locker room.

I voted for Travis. He hits,,,and (recently) is scoring, he's willing to go (fight) if need be, and I rarely see him coasting. He plays the PK, but IMHO doesn't get the recognition that he deserves. As good as Josh is,,,he gets kudos from everyone, so I don't think he is underrated.

I agree, But I love AK and he has been crapped on for so long

I like AK as well, he is a gifted player,,,,but IMO,,,he doesn't give his all, all of the time. Travis does what is asked of him, he plays on the top lines when asked to, or the bottom lines when asked to. He doesn't sulk or go into a funk, he just keeps plugging along,,,,doing his job.

Yes, Josh gets kudos by us habs fans, but he is very underrated throughout the league.

Looking at it league wide I'd agree. As for fan wide or just from our fan base, I'd say Moen. I'm inclined to say Kostitsyn but I think people recognise what he can bring more than with Moen. Tough I think of the two AK has more to his game, but speaking to underratedness, Moen has my vote.

I'm not a big fan of AK because he seems to be missing in action more often than not but I certainly recognize his talents. Now if you had asked who the Habs biggest under-achiever was I'd place AK right after Gomez.

Judging how underrated a player is can be hard. Some might say that Plekanec is underrated by many pundits across the league and that you really have to see what he does night in night out for this team to appreciate the things he does that don't show up on the stat sheet. The same can be said about Gorges, certainly. To me, AK46 is still the guy who fits that bill though. Whereas guys like Pleks and Gorges get lots of accolades from the fans and media here, AK takes a lot of criticism and I think a lot of the things he does go under-appreciated because of the concept that he can be lazy at times. Yet I see players lie Gio and Cammy go through equally bad slumps without getting the same flack from the media/fans. AK, at the end of the year, always seems to have decent points totals for a guy who tends to be further down the coach's list of go-to players (on special teams, at the end of the game, etc.). No question he has his flaws but relative to what he does, I think he's the guy who stands out. In Moen's case, he's played above his potential so far this year, but I don't see him as being good enough to warrant the title. He's a decent 4th line player but I don't feel he does things that go unnoticed.

most people i know knew him.

Well, most people I know didn't. There's not much fans like you guys who now a ton about hockey and NHL and most of the players on a team other than your favorite where I live. Most people where I live like soccer more than hockey. Lots just call themselves fans but barely watch any of their favorite teams games.
