hatethosebruins
I think this may have been discussed before if so mods close this. But I wonder what others opinions are on this topic, should the NHl allow colours or whites to be worn at home games? IMO I think whites should be worn at home simply because you see so many different colours from the other teams, I know now its not a big deal with "large television contracts" (even though for the states its on VS) but I think its nice that way, I also love the look of the Canadiens uniform in white, take for example when we play the rags and they wear those dark blue jerseys......looks classy

Manatee-X
I always figured that they could do it the way they do in some soccer leagues over in Europe. The home team picks their colours - it doesn't matter if it's dark or light, basically it's whatever is more marketable or more identifiable with the team. If the visiting team has a colour that clashes with the home team's colour then the visiting team will use their other jersey.
CANADIENS27
Were we the first team to wear colors for home games?
Noob616
I would prefer whites at home (although I prefer our red jerseys), but it's really a non-issue to me.

RSD
I remember they used to rotate it at one point didn't they? One season coloured and one season whites? I remember when we used to wear whites at home back in the 90s. Personally, I could care less as long as they win...That's not happening much either...So I guess, they should rotate every period. HabsRuleForever
I want whites at home & colours on the road as it was & should be, but that's just me. Maybe they can change every other shift.
WinnipegJet
I've heard stories that the reason they used to wear whites at home and darks on the road was because it was more difficult to clean the jerseys away from home; darks better hid stains and so forth. Not sure if its the truth or an old wives tale though. But, I look at it this way - every team in the league has a white jersey. No two teams have the exact same dark jersey. Generally speaking, most fans identify with the colours of their team, so I feel it makes sense to wear the dark jerseys at home. Granted, the odd game here-and-there would be cool to mix it up, especially if one of the retro jerseys of a team is white-based, but largely I like having the home team wear its colours. I remember last year watching a buffalo game and the habs had to bring their darks as buff had a white throw back it was nice Then i asked my dad what was going on and he said havent we always worn this jersey on the road?
