at the United Center in Chicago

This marks the only game of the season between these two Original 6 opponents. When last they met, only nine or so months ago, Montreal won a 2-1 decision to clinch their playoff spot and further put Chicago’s quest to defend their championship in jeopardy. Chicago would eke their way into the post-season and lose in the seventh game to the Stanley Cup runners-up Vancouver Canucks whereas Montreal was also eliminated in seven by the Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins.

Presently, the two clubs are moving in opposite directions. Chicago is at the top of the West while our Canadiens are close to bottoming out in the East.

It’s a tale of two teams and sixty minutes will tell the story.

Habs v. Hawks

Regular Season Game #555

Funny stuff from Mike Boone on HIO

Your Montreal Canadiens are still trying to get Randy Cunneyworth his first win as an NHL head coach.

The quest continues Wednesday night at the United Centre.

The home team will be ornery, having lost in Pittsburgh on Tuesday.

Peter Budaj gets the start, which means Carey Price will play in Winnipeg on Thursday.

The only other lineup change is Scott Gomez draws in for Erik Cole.

Gotcha!

I just threw that in there to see if you were paying attention.

TSN.ca is streaming this game live for anyone who didn't know already. ;)

Well we gave one away in Boston with two give aways. One by #76 the other by #32. Let's hope tonite is a different story. This is a tough road trip playing the first place teams in two different divisions but if the Habs play good basic hockey this could be a big win.

However should we drop another I am afraid that our new coach will have some sleepless hours coming up! I have a good feeling about this game however I am a little nervous about the goal tending situation.

GO HABS GO!!!!

 Always the positive one? Let's just remember. The more we lose, the closer we are to a nice pick!

And PG would probably trade that away for another over-priced, veteran on his way out.

Hello, folks.

I have pizza and beer for this one. Or I will, within 30 minutes. So it can't be that bad, right? :)

That's the spirit,,,another optimist.
