Forever_Habs10
Game #58 Last 10: Boston 4-5-1; Montreal 6-4-0. Season Series: This is the sixth and final meeting between the Original Six rivals. The Bruins have won three of the first five matchups, including a 2-1 win at TD Garden on Jan. 12. Big Story: Clearly frustrated by Monday's loss on home ice to the Carolina Hurricanes, emotions ran high during Tuesday's practice as center Scott Gomez exchanged words with assistant coach Randy Ladouceur. Afterwards, though, Gomez tried to diffuse the situation. "It happens all the time," Gomez told the club's web site. "I wasn't doing the drill properly and I think this all just shows how passionate everyone is about winning right now. It's not the first time and it won't be the last. "I was listening to what he had to tell me – he's the coach. There was no coming back at what he was saying. It was just a discussion. It was just a coach letting a player know he hadn't done a drill right, nothing more." Randy Cunneyworth backed his assistant coach after practice. "It's important to make sure we're doing the drills the right way," Cunneyworth said. "The best way to make yourself understood on the ice is to show you're working as hard as you possibly can within the system. We're looking for a north-south game that ends at the opponent's net. Not everyone is giving us that." Team Scope: Bruins: Boston's problems with the New York Rangers continued Tuesday night, as they peppered Henrik Lundqvist with 42 shots but still came up empty in a 3-0 loss at TD Garden. Boston officially attempted 79 shots to the Rangers' 31, with New York blocking 22 shots and the Bruins firing 15 others off target. The loss dropped them nine points behind the Blueshirts in the Eastern Conference. "We're a checking team that scores. That's our identity," Bruins coach Claude Julien said. "We're a checking team that scores, but right now, we're not checking and we're not scoring. We've got to get back to get back to checking, and checking is playing a lot harder, winning battles, and being really hard to score against, and when you do that, then teams get frustrated like we did tonight, make a few mistakes, and it ends up in the net. So they beat us at our own game." Canadiens: Montreal's bid for a fifth straight win came up short Monday night, as Eric Staal scored twice and added an assist in the Habs' 5-3 loss to the Hurricanes at the Bell Centre. With Toronto's 5-1 loss at Calgary on Tuesday night, the Canadiens enter Wednesday's action seven points out of the eighth and final playoff spot in the East. "We should have had this one, we had to win this one," Habs center Lars Eller said. "We could have been five points out of a playoff spot right now. That's why it's so disappointing right now. It's just not good enough. I won't say we're out of it because technically we can still make it, but we're making it hard on ourselves by losing a game that has to be won." Who's Hot: Bruins center Patrice Bergeron has a goal and 3 assists in his last five games. … Erik Cole has goals in back-to-back games for the Canadiens, while Max Pacioretty has 4 goals in his last three contests. Tomas Plekanec is 2-4-6 in his last five. Injury Report:Nathan Horton (mild concussion) and Marc Savard (concussion) are out for the Bruins. … Montreal is likely to be without Mike Blunden (knee), Brian Gionta (biceps), Andrei Markov (ACL), Petteri Nokelainen (upper body) and Yannick Weber (leg) and Travis Moen (upper body). Stat Pack: The Bruins are just 6-7-1 in their last 14 games. … With his goal Monday night, Canadiens forward Rene Bourque now has 30 points in 26 career matches against Carolina. Puck Drop: "No doubt, right now they're playing the best. They're playing like we did last year when we were playing well. Right now that's the identity we're looking for again." -- Bruins coach Claude Julien on the Rangers after Tuesday's 3-0 loss * PS...Get Well Soon HTB....This Habs Win Tonight Is For You... Forever_Habs10
Boston lost 3-0 on home ice to the Rangers Tuesday night. The Bruins will be angrier than Randy Ladouceur was at Scott Gomez when they face the Canadiens at the Bell Centre Wednesday evening. Buffalo, Tampa Bay, the Jets and Leafs were all Tuesday losers. But the Islanders won to slip past the Canadiens into 11th place in the Eastern Conference.

kinot-1
Kinda OT,,,but I found this on the cheapie booins boards,,,,,of course edited. "so i go to the Rags board to congratulate them on basically wrapping up the top seed in the east and kiddingly say i'm rooting for whoever gets the 8th seed to sneak up on them and catch them napping so we don't have to face them later in the post season, and a couple of them replied, in a serious tone, that I should be rooting for the habs and that the last thing they want to do is go up to Montreal again. Is that true? Are the habs to the Rags what the Canes are to us? If so then maybe we can, you know, just temporarily...you know, for selfish reasons....think about rooting for....(SNAP OUT OF IT!!)...PHEW! Glad I came to my senses." I can't think for whatever reason a Habs fan would root for the booins.
