Canadiens acquire B. Geoffrion, R. Slaney, and 2nd round draft pick in 2012 from NSH for H. Gill and a conditional 5th round pick in 2013

I was just going to post that. we got more than I thought. Imagine, a 3rd generation Geoffrion playng for the Habs :), and G-Grandson of Howie Morenz. Blake is 190# and 6'2.

I think we did alright, but Geoffrions'numbers aren't that great 3 assists in 22 games and -2, will he ever play here? I didn't see any stats for Slaney, time will tell I guess.

Pretty happy with this trade. The second round pick alone is very solid value for Hal IMO.

I would have been happy with just a second. Getting Geoffrion is extra cool. I only hope he can make the NHL soon and be a decent bottom-six contributor going forward. I'm assuming he's going to be assigned to Hamilton for the remainder of this year.

Is it actually possible PG made a trade that the Habs forums almost unanimously approve of?! I'm with you guys, I was just expecting something like a 3rd rounder back for Gill. Great job PG.

I wish Gill the best of luck in Nashville. I've cursed his play on more than a few occasions, but he's a likable guy (and a beast on the PK) who deserves our respect.
