I think that really if next year Enqvist doesn't make the squad then he Is a career Ahler.

The sooner we get our new GM the quicker we'll see if guys like him are in the long term plans. If the new guy goes out and fills a bunch of holes by way of UFA's then the writing will be on the wall.

I was wondering if anyone had some insight into Greg Pateryn. From what I understand he was a top-pairing shutdown defenseman for Michigan who has good size (listed at 6'3", 215 lbs?) and positioning. My question is, assuming he starts the year in Hamilton, do we see him called up during his 2 year ELC? Where does he fit into our plans long term, and what is his potential? I am assuming he can be a fringe 5th-6th D man on a good NHL team. Does he have more potential? Less?

The case of the Hamilton Bulldogs Defense next year is looking quite exciting. I can't even begin to predict potential pairings with the addition of Ellis, Tinordi, and hopefully Beaulieu and a recovered Nash. Add into the mix probable re-signee St. Denis and Alex Henry, along with Stejskal, who else do you think will get resigned for the D crops in Hamilton?

To answer your first question he could but I would doubt it because we have some other senior defensemen. I would see him in a mid pairing physical defenseman. I believe St- Denis will be with Montreal. The other defenseman there will probably Mark Mikerta, T.J. Fast, Olivier Malka, Trevor Hendrixs and Zack Fitzgerald. Most will need to be resigned but this is the other defenseman currently on the roster. So I am not sure ifcall of them will be back.

Dumont might get some ice-time, but I doubt if Mayer will, but, you never know.

I think they just brought him to be Budaj's backup in all 3 remaining games. But I would start him in one. We want to evaluate our young players and it also helps with operation Tank2012.

Definitely I think that Mayer will play at least one game like Budaj were to play if Price were okay.

Because we play on Wed. and Thurs., I retract my previous statement that Mayer probably won't play. I think he will start on Thurs., because of the 2 games in 2 nights.
