Forever_Habs10 Posted April 10, 2012 Report Share Posted April 10, 2012 TEAM CANADA BUILDING ROSTER FOR WORLD HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP The Edmonton Oilers confirmed Tuesday Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has accepted an invitation from Hockey Canada to play in the World Hockey Championship. Meanwhile, Steven Stamkos will not attend the tournament in order to rest his ailing left shoulder. An MRI has confirmed there is no structural damage. Nugent-Hopkins is coming off a potential Calder trophy winning season, while Stamkos became the first player to score 60 goals since Alex Ovechkin did it in 2008. Carolina Hurricanes head coach Kirk Muller and Tampa Bay Lightning head coach Guy Boucher have accepted roles as assistant coaches.
