CANADIENS27
Did anyone know much about this Jankowski kid prior to the draft? I keep hearing that he could turn out to be the best player of this draft down the road. I just find it hard to predict when he hasn't proven himself past a high school/college level (NHL.com states high school and college). I don't know how good the division he plays in but he wasn't dangling around the best in say, the CHL. NHL.com says he will be playing for Providence in the NCAA. kinot-1
DENVER The Calgary Flames have signed Colorado Avalache’s disgrutled centreman Ryan O’Reilly to an offer sheet. The 24-year-old O’Reilly is a restricted free agent and has not been able to come to contract terms with the Avs. The offer sheet he signed with the Flames is reportedly for two years and $10 million - $3.5 in the first and $6.5 million in the second. If the Avalanche choose not to match, the compensation from Calgary would be a first- and a third-round draft choice. The Avalanche has one week to match the offer. O’Reilly has 39 goals and 107 points in 236 NHL games.
kinot-1
The Calgary Flames are bringing back tough guy Brian McGrattan. The Flames re-acquired McGrattan in Thursday's swap with the Nashville Predators, with minor-league defenceman Joe Piskula going the opposite direction in the deal. Although McGrattan has been assigned to the Flames' AHL affiliate in Abbotsford, TSN's Bob McKenzie reported the 31-year-old pugilist will stop in Calgary for medical tests and is likely to be added to the big-league roster as soon as Flames GM Jay Feaster can clear a spot for him. “wanna thank the nashville predators and all the fans for everything and cant wait to put the flaming C back on!!!!” McGrattan wrote on his Twitter account. powerplay2009
Big overpayment. If i'm the Avs i take the picks and run. I disagree with you and agree with the Avalanche. He's really underrated. My brother is an Avalanche fan, so I got to see them pretty often last year. He is their Tomas Plekanec, but with more offensive upside. He's the real deal. A few weeks ago HNIC was talking about O'Reilly and said if his draft happens again he goes #2 behind Tavares, and I would have to agree with that watching him play most of last year. Guest
Salary is 6,5 mill next year. To me that's a huge overpayment. What does he get on his next contact as an encore??
