BigTed3
Hoping it's in the range of 1.5m per season. Anything under a 1.8m cap hit is okay with me, but I wonder if Eller's going to have wanted the same deal as Emelin... again, like the markov, moen, Price, Prust deals, etc., it's not that any one deal is so horrid, but if you always pay towards the top end of what these guys are worth, you're going to run out of cap space soon enough. caperns
Exactly what the doctor ordered, he has not done enough to warrant anything more than a 2 year contract, gives galy a couple of years and Eller time to prove he belongs. If he can't prove himself to be a top 6 forward over the next couple of seasons this will be his last contract with the habs.

Jbaker8787
R.P Lavoie reporting its 2 years at 2.65 mil Edit: 2.65 is total, not per year That's not bad at all, should have no problem living up to that
BigTed3
R.P Lavoie reporting its 2 years at 2.65 mil Edit: 2.65 is total, not per year That's a very good deal if that's the case. I would have expected it to be around the 1.6-1.7 range that Pacman had signed for on his own two-year deal, so I'd be quite pleased with Eller at under 1.4m. If we take our current roster and add Diaz in at the same cap hit as Weber (whom we'd subtract out), we'd have 22 guys signed with about 7.5m left over to get Subban in. It leaves us plenty of room to sign him and then have the flexibility to demote Gomez if we wanted to add another big piece or two down the line. Noob616
That's a good price for Eller. I'm hoping for big things from him this year.

MIASUN
MB is a lot more cap conscious than the Prust deal gave as an initial impression. I'm surprised we got Eller under 3 million over 2 seasons. This is a big 2 year stretch for Lars, I think he has the chance to become dumb rich on his next deal. Graeme-1
Good deal considering his cap hit is only about $55k more than last season (although last season 400k of it were bonuses). Also, I can't remember if bonus money is included when calculating a player's qualifying offer; if so this is barely above his qualifying offer. jedimaas
i like this deal a lot because a) it is financially good for our cap but b ) there is clearly motivation for Lars to "prove" he is worth more for his next deal. I just hope he's given the chance (line mates and ice time) to really show what he's got.
S-Bah
Lars is following the lead shown by Plekanec as a fine two way center with a team first mentality, another favorite player of mine.
jennifer_rocket
Lars is following the lead shown by Plekanec as a fine two way center with a team first mentality, another favorite player of mine. Lars is awesome. I really enjoy his off ice attitude as well. There were a few times last year where he was incredibly disappointed with his performance and the team's performance and wasn't afraid to let it show during post-game media scrums. He wants to win. I hope we can keep him around for many years to come. If that's as a scoring forward or a third line center... I'd be happy with either.

My gut tells me he's either going to be a solid, if unspectacular 2nd line centre, or one of the best 2 way third line centres in the league. I guess "what the team needs" will dictate how and where he plays.

Majorbedhead
i would try and trade Eller in a package deal with Kristo and a 2nd rounder for Okposo. if that wouldnt work id put Eller 3rd line winger to play with Galchenyuk and Leblanc. if Galchenyuk wouldnt be ready id make Eller play center between Moen and Leblanc.. Guest
A little update on Eller for those who understand French.. http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/344557.html Says he's now able to train much harder this off season after that surgery to repair his shoulder injury. It's been holding him back for the last 3 years (training) and he's hoping to have a much bigger impact with the Habs this season.
