Thinking about this years team definitely gets me excited for the Dogs this season. But im more excited for the 2013/14 season. Adding Kristo(assuming he signs) and Thrower to a ridiculously young team with alot of upside, and the chance of Collberg hoping over to this side of the ocean to play would be amazing. The top end talent this team has after the 2012 draft is great news for this club.

Collberg still has a year left on his contract in Sweden, and I think has said he's going to play it out before thinking about coming over.

I think I will be watching these guys all season because this season looks like a wash for the Canadiens. This is a lineup worth watching:

Geoffrion-Leblanc- Palushaj

Lefebvre- Dumont- Gallagher

Holland-Nattinen- Quailed

Avtsin- Bournival- Berger

Schultz

Nash- St- Denis

Beaulieu - Tinordi

Hagel- Ellis

Pateryn- Dietz

Desjardins- Delmas- Mayer

That's certainly a promising looking lineup to me. The players I am most interested in are:

  • Blake Geoffrion.
  • Louis Leblanc.
  • Aaron Palushaj.
  • Brendan Gallagher.
  • Gabriel Dumont.
  • Brendan Nash.
  • Nathan Beaulieu.
  • Jarred Tinordi.
  • Morgan Ellis.

Blake, I think, has the potential to make the Habs. We will see, I guess.

Correct me if I'm wrong,,,but, wasn't Gallagher the last guy cut from last years training camp? I would also think that Tinordi has a decent shot at making the club this year, if only to replace Gill. We need a big guy on the back end to take out the oppositions forwards, and he can do it. IMO, we don't have a big guy to replace Gill.

I think Tinordi will play that role, and you could be right that he'll play at least a few games with Montreal but if it's 8 to 10 mins in Montreal or 18 to 20 in Hamilton, I think it might be in the best interest to stick with Hamilton unless injuries force the jump

Tinordi and Beaulieu should be in Hamilton and as JBaker said, Tinordi may get a call-up, but I highly doubt he's able to make the jump from junior, despite our needs. St-Denis had the best shot to displace Weber, but now that we've signed Bouillon, I don't think there will be much room for any young guys.

Up front, you can count guys and if the plan is to retain Gomez, then there are at most two spots up for grabs for young guys (I think Noke can be beaten out). There is still room for a scoring LW on the second line, but Gallagher and LL are both righties, so they'll have a tough time fitting in there. Otherwise, we're looking for someone to play the 3rd or 4th. To me, a guy like Dumont might have as good a shot as anyone.

This is a lineup: I'd see in the NHL in a couple years. If none of these guys get traded and with regard to the current contracts.

Pacioretty - Galchenyuk- Colleberg

Leblanc- Eller- Kristo

Moen- Bournival- Gallagher

Bozon- Nattinen- Prust

Beaulieu- Subban

Tinordi- Gorges

Emelin- Ellis

Dietz

Price- X
