MkGee
getting Nathan would be epic for our center depth.. we have some great wingers they could play with.. like gallager and patches of course.. then most likely Eller and bozon.. with the d core we have coming up we'd be scoring goals and shutting down opposition

powerplay2009
Jonathan Drouin is a wing right? I don't think we really need centers, unless we plan on moving DD and Pleks soon.

kinot-1
I REALLY hope that we draft a goalie this year. We don't have much in the system, and we have to think of the future.
BigTed3
I REALLY hope that we draft a goalie this year. We don't have much in the system, and we have to think of the future. I don't mind drafting a keeper, but I wouldn't spend a top pick on one. You can sometimes get a guy who develops well later on in the draft, and I think we have other needs to address at the top of the draft, especially if we're in a position to pick in the top 3-5 again. But yes, overall I agree that we have nothing going after Carey.

But yes, overall I agree that we have nothing going after Carey. I didn't mean that we should pick a goalie in the 1st or 2nd round. I meant that TT (and his team) should, ( with MB's approval) should seriously look at drafting a goalie to at least be put into the system. According to TSN draft prospects, 4 goalies of the top rated prospects are in the top 75, with the top rated goalie ranked 14th, at this time. BigTed3
We may not end up with a top 5 pick this year, but in addition to our own 1st, we currently hold 3 second round picks, including a Flames pick that currently ranks #33 overall and a Preds pick that sits at #42. In a deep draft, those can be valuable. It could be a very good haul for Trevor Timmins, if Bergevin allows him to hold onto all those picks. Discuss. kinot-1
Now that this topic is open, I will be keeping an eye on the draft picks for this year. Occassionally I will go to the various Sports sites to have a look at what they have to say, but sometimes they only have the top 20 or 30 picks listed. Corazu
Seems like excitement for the draft died down when we started winning. Yup. Although I'm still excited for the draft...just...it's being overshadowed by the chance of winning something other than the lottery...
BigTed3
Keep in mind that we currently hold 4 choices in the late 1st or 2nd round... imagine another yield of Tinordi, Collberg, Kristo, and Subban, all in the same year! Those players were all drafted in that area of the draft, so it's not impossible we find 1-2 impact guys with those 4 picks.
BeanCountingHab
Ya, with a supposedly deep draft, I won't be dissapointed if we stand pat at the deadline and walz in with 4 top 60 picks.
weepingminotaur
I wouldn't bet on picking up a player of Subban's caliber again in the second round of the draft, but we are well-positioned to add good quality to our team for years to come with all the picks we have heading into this draft. Subbans don't come around every year, but given Timmins' draft record, I couldn't be happier at the number of picks we have in the first few rounds this year. Actually... it seems like they do... Malcolm Subban in last years draft, now Jordan Subban in this years draft... In all seriousness though, it would be very nice to land another star second rounder! But don't count on anybody as good as PK.

On this...anyone know why Jordan has fallen to 81 on the North American chart? He was at 17 mid-season...I'd love to be able to pick him up in the 2nd or 3rd round. No, I wouldn't bet on it either, but the more picks you have, the higher the chances that you find a hidden gem. I'm confident with TT at the helm that we'll find some guys with at least a chance of becoming impact players, which is good, because we're on our way to depleting Hamilton of our best prospects and will need to re-stock. Agreed. Prospect pool will need replenishing, particularly at forward, with Gallagher and Galchenyuk up here and Leblanc's stock dropping.
