Carol gets the opening round :)

BTW, she teaches wrestling at U of Alberta

CAROL WINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNSSSSSSSSSSSS BRONZE YEAAAAA

BTW,,,the 1st rd produced no pts. so they had to draw a ball  , blue for Can, and red for the Sengalese, it was blue so Carol got the advantage hold, and took her opponent down. The blue ball did not go back into the draw.,,,,2nd rd. no pts. so another draw,,,it was blue again, so Carol had the advantage hold again, and took her down FTW. :)

Certainly a weird way to break ties but we'll take it. WTG Carol.

I enjoyed the bio on her before the match, describing some of the hardships her and community went through to get her to this point in her life. Touching.

Taoufik Makhloufi of Algeria wins the 1500 meters in 3:34.08. Makhloufi had been booted out of the Games for failing to try in 800 meters, but was reinstated after a doctor determined a knee injury was legitimate. Leonel Mazano was second in 3:34.79 and Abdalaati Iguider of Morocco was third in 3:35.13.

Verbeek will be going for gold in woman's wrestling at 2:00 today. Guaranteed at least a silver. :D

Awesome win by our soccer team for the bronze. We were pretty much dominated by the French team. Looked like they had no gas left in the tank after that loss to the US.My first star in the game has to be the Canadian goalposts.

We have two women qualified in the top 8 for diving ( one of them in second spot). A couple shots at medals this afternoon.

This could be a great day for Canada.
