dwdemonwolf
Plekanec should be on the half boards on the first PP unit. Pacioretty has a good shot but he has not got the puck handling skills.

weepingminotaur
DZone coverage just awful in those last few minutes. Price the only reason we're not down 2-0. Which coach is in charge of positional assignments in the DZone?
HabsRuleForever
Thanks for staying awake Carey. Great save. LOL Miller shoots the puck & hits his own guy to end the period.

weepingminotaur
Whoever is coaching the d-men doesn't seem to have instructed them to play zone defending a rush within the hash marks. I've lost track of how many times the left D gets sucked into man-covering a forward while another enemy player comes completely free from the left side. habs_93
That call on Ott could've very easily been tripping, holding, roughing, and unsportsmanlike. But players like Ott never get called after the first offence. If a guy like Plekanec did something like that, he'd easily got a double minor. roy_133
A couple breakdowns but we've been very, very clearly the better team.
weepingminotaur
A couple breakdowns but we've been very, very clearly the better team. Definitely. The first two-thirds of the game was basically an NHL team playing keepaway against a bunch of scrubs.

habs_93
Definitely. The first two-thirds of the game was basically an NHL team playing keepaway against a bunch of scrubs. To be fair, the Sabres of today are pretty much Thomas Vanek and the hockey version of the team that plays against the Harlem Globetrotters. The Washington Wizards, right? But that's what we should be doing. We should be owning a fire-sale team like the Sabres if we're serious about doing damage in the playoffs. I'd like to think we could get a goal on Ryan Miller with thirteen shots in twenty minutes, but perhaps he just needs to get a bit more tired first. If the Islanders and Sabres were to combine into one team, we'd never win a game again. The Islabres?

BigTed3
Sabres are still only 4 points out of the playoffs, so I wouldn't say they're a firesale team quite yet, even though they haven't met expectations. The difference this year is that we're so far ahead of them, we don't see them as being in the playoff battle. But if we were one win away from being two points out, you wouldn't see Habs fans talking about being in the basement.
