Game #40,,,Montreal at Buffalo, 7:30 PM, CBC, RDS, MSG B

Since losing 6-1 on Feb. 2 in the first matchup, Buffalo has taken three straight meetings by one goal. The Sabres won the latest one 2-1 on the road March 23 behind a stellar effort from Ryan Miller, who made 38 saves and stopped 15 of 16 shots in the third period.

Coming off Tuesday’s 3-2 loss to the Washington Capitals at the Bell Centre, Canadiens coach Michel Therrien shuffled his lines at practice Wednesday morning in Brossard and announced that Peter Budaj will start in goal against the Sabres Thursday night in Buffalo (7:30 p.m., CBC, RDS, TSN Radio 690).

In eight games this season, the 30-year-old Budaj has a 6-1-1 record with a 2.17 goals-against average and .917 save percentage with one shutout.

Rene Bourque, who started Tuesday’s game on the fourth line, was bumped up to join Tomas Plekanec and Brian Gionta at practice Wednesday, while Michael Ryder was with Lars Eller and Alex Galchenyuk. The David Desharnais-Max Pacioretty-Brendan Gallagher line was kept intact, while Brandon Prust dropped down to the fourth line with Travis Moen and Jeff Halpern.

Lines at practice, per John Lu:

Bourque – Plekanec – Gionta

Pacioretty–Desharnais – Gallagher

Galchenyuk – Eller – Ryder

Moen – Halpern – Prust

Gorges – Subban

Markov – Bouillon

Beaulieu – Drewiske

Kaberle – Weber

Ryder back at his regular RW

A sniper winger on each line (Bourque, not Gionta, if anyone was wondering ;) ; two such, one day, on that third listed line, when Galchenyuk starts hitting the net with that great shot of his)

Bouillon moved up.

(I presume everyone at practice is instructed not to hit Kaberle (with body or puck) and put him on IR.)

Yay <_<

The boys have to come out right away and play a full 60 minutes. Can't afford to slip up for 20 minutes (Second period) anymore now that it's almost playoff time. Focus is key.

The scheduled puck drop is at 7:30,,,,,,NOT at 7:00 as previously mentioned. When I put up the GDT, 7:00 is what I read.

Could a Mod please change the time in the title, and in my opening post?

Looks good now, another mod must've beaten me to it.

Looks great now, we need a win against the slugs, they've been hab killers this season.

RB's big body will be welcome in our top 6.
