The time just seemed right. By right, I mean as wrong as humanly possible.

Every third shift the defence might do something good, the rest of the time I'm scared. It's not like they're being put in extraordinary situations, either. It's basic stuff they get wrong. They make more work for themselves by failing to do the simple things. They make inconceivably bad decisions and then bail out of them midway through. They don't expend the last little bit of effort to execute plays. And then they'll do two or three good things in a row before going back to that. They'll usually concede a goal at that point.

It makes absolutely no sense and I've given up trying to comprehend it.

We once again looked like we were playing pick-up hockey. No organization, no effort on the back-check on many shifts. Sorry to harp on the same guys but Markov looks like he's just given up on playing defence. Desharnais looks like he's not bothering to look when he passes the puck. Ryder, Plekanec, and Gionta have been invisible. Pacman is trying hard but making too many errors.

I'f I'm MT, I'm going to the 3rd with three lines:

Pacioretty-Eller-Gionta

Bourque-Plekanec-Ryder

Prust-Gallagher-Galchenyuk

And I'll take

Tinordi-Subban

Gorges-Diaz

Markov-Bouillon (limited minutes)

But that would make too much sense.

Seriously almost as if Therrien has this mentality:

"Live with Desharnais, die with Desharnais"
