Guest habs1952
Let me start by saying....GO HABS GO!!!!!
HabsRuleForever
Yes GO HABS GO & GO GOONS. I hate the Laffs more. I hope they beat the snot out of each other.
moe181
That was quick... Well then, I 'm torn whether I like this over the leafs, BUT 2-1-1 is better than 2-3-0. I'm less worried about Price though, he's done better against the sens than the leafs.
jedimaas
Part of me was sort of hoping for a B's win tonight so that we would face the leafs in the first round, but I think either team (leafs or sens) are wholly beatable, so Im happy to: a) have home-ice until at least the 3rd round and b ) have no possible way to meet the pens until at least the conference finals Starting with this round, the keys for us are: 1) Playing well in front of Price. I think he will show up & play well but as a team we need to play the way we have the last 2 - 3 games, not that insane scrambling we saw for a stretch of 7 - 8 before that. Back to basics on the back end & we should be fine. 2) Balanced attack. All 3 of our offensive lines need to be flying. Anderson is not going to give up a lot, so we need to fire everything we can at him. 3) Stick to the plan. This team does not have the talent to just let a few guys carry them. We need a complete team effort to be successful. If we can do those 3 things, we should be ok. Im predicting Habs in 5 or 6.
Guest
Not my 1st choice of opponents but hopefully we get through this round and the Leafs and Bruins pound each other into oblivion.
Habberwacky
Habs in 6? We'll need to play tight and win our home games. I like this match up even though I think Ottawa edged us out in the regular season. Some really good yong talent in this series. I''ll take the under in all these games. Our PP kicking in alomg with the Gally line should be the difference maker.in this series,
Kindred
Yes GO HABS GO & GO GOONS. I hate the Laffs more. I hope they beat the snot out of each other. same. I hope they go to at leats 6 games and send at least injury a player from either side. As for us? I want to believe the habs will crush the Sens and make this a quick round. But i have a feelign we could see this go to 6 or 7 games. If the habs play smart? Habs in 5. If they play dumb? Sens in
BigTed3
Leafs or Sens both would have been tough match-ups, but I don't think there's an easy match-up for anyone in the East this year. Either way, you need to beat three of the East teams to get to the Cup, and as was said, we avoid the Pens through the first two rounds and have home ice in those two rounds as well, if we can make it that far. No doubt, the Sens are a well-coached team playing as a unit, but they will still be missing Spezza, and Phillips also went down tonight. Anderson has still yet to prove himself in pressure situations. We are still the favorite in this series, although I feel like it will be a trendy pick among the media to go with Ottawa. And all in all, that will give us the odds in terms of last line change and home-town fans (and yes, I think there will be tons of Habs fans in Ottawa too), but maybe take away the pressure of being a heavy favorite. And as I said, at worst, we can be snug knowing the Bruins fell down to 4th and have to play the Leafs!
maddienmike
Sorry we have to knock the Sens out but there it is,I think they will be harder to play than the Laffs, but will be better practice for the next round, although anything can happen,I am just so pleased with the turnaround this year,I shall be happy with whatever happens as long as they play hard and don't give it away which I don't think is likely.Has anyone heard any rumours about Spezza being back,I heard he could be. GO HABS GO

powerplay2009
I think this series will be about a couple big matchups: 1. Subban vs Karlsson 2. Anderson vs Price If all 3 of our lines are going at a reasonable clip, there is no way for OTT to match us though IMO.
powerplay2009
I'm hearing we have to wait till Thursday. Fine with me. Gives Prust, Ryder, Markov, and Price (still think he's fighting something) more time for some much needed and well deserved R&R

BigTed3
ya habsinsideout is saying thursday and friday for the first 2 games not a big fan of back to back games for the playoffs There are also reports of a second back-to-back Mon and Tue the week after for games 3 and 4. Talk about terrible planning from the league. They should have just started Tue and Thu this week, would have made more sense... was stupid of Bettman to promise Bos and Ott they wouldn't play Tuesday. Guest habs1952
you're doing it wrong. you rather should try hook the wife to hockey no? Funny you should say that. Married for 36 years and not once did she sit with me watching hockey. NOT ONCE.......until recently. And now I can't get rid of her.......legally. But, I don't think she'll be too enamored watching hockey every night when her prime time TV shows are on even if we do have a PVR.
