Manatee-X
I think that the first goal is going to be huge tonight, especially after the Anderson show that we saw yesterday. I really, really don't want to have another game where we swarm all over them but don't put anything in. Having said that, I've got a good feeling about tonight
Habs_Hockey_Nutz
There is room for optimism because as good as we may think the Habs played the first game and deserved a better fate, there is room for improvement for enough players to make a difference. It starts with Carey Price no doubt there. Others need to and could elevate their game. The play that I saw last night was not the best of the Habs IMO, regardles of what the majority may think (including Therrien). I believe they really did not play their collective best A-game. And that's what is needed in these playoffs for them to have any success.
77bourque77
alright boys, time to put your foot down and ralley together and take these guys down. We can put 100 pucks at the net but they need to be quality shots too, so start getting infront of anderson and make his life misreable! Win it for eller! Guest
Heard Gio and Max out tonight as well? That's not good. Yup. As per TSN.... The Habs will also be without two of their top six forwards tonight as both Brian Gionta and Max Pacioretty are out with upper body injuries. jedimaas
Test of the season so far.Can Price somehow get his game straight & stand on his head? We will need him to be our best player if we have even the slightest chance of winning this one with all of these injuries.
HabsAlways
To be honest, it might be a small blessing that Patches/Gio are out ... not Eller, we need Eller But Patches and Gio have severely underperformed this year. If we move Galchenyuk up a line, we get two scoring lines and two checking lines Bourque-DD-RyderGalchenyuk-Pleks-GallagherPrust-Halpern-ArmstrongMoen-White-DumontThat is what I would go with make the 3rd line the new shut down line and rotate 2 scoring lines 1st two lines for offense, 3rd line for shut down, 4th line for energy ... and with Eller, Gio, Patches out hopefully the team plays that much harder

One is our leading scorer and the other was 1 goal behind the team leader while playing defence better than any of the fourth line checking guys who are drawing into the lineup. In any case, though, I do agree that if there's any small positive it will be that the team will hopefully play hard knowing that they have a bit of ground to make up with those guys out. montreal961
Heard Gio and Max out tonight as well? That's not good. Horrible news. Price and company will have to step up big time tonight. Hopefully the kids can contribute as well, as i am confident they will. It would be nice if Anderson is a bit sore from last nights barrage. A win is a must at this point. That's more what I meant, that their absence (both having been playing lethargically, imho) forces everyone else to pick up their game... hopefully they're not out long term and it does force our hand into trying a different line combination
BeanCountingHab
Eller released from the hospital. Hopefully that gives the guys a boost and they can rally and win this for him.

Manatee-X
I hate to say it, but a big part of this game does rest on the shoulders of our goalie. Even throughout our bad spell towards the end of the season, Carey wasn't playing great but the team was really leaving him out to dry. That wasn't the case last night, though, and he's absolutely got to be better. We're going to have a harder time completely overwhelming the Sens now that we've lost an entire first line's worth of players. I'd really, really love to see Price and the team pull this one off
jedimaas
I have a good feeling about tonight. First off I am able to actually think about a hockey game, not just the health of one of our best young players - and Im sure thats doubly true for his teammates. But secondly, with the loss of Eller, Gio & Patches for tonight, the team is going to have to buckle down and play like a team - all system, patient etc. Who cares if you get 50 shots, if 40 of them are 1st shots, no rebounds, far out etc, you arent going to score much against Anderson. I think a 2-1 habs win is in order tonight. But we're going to need a big game from Carey.

The funny thing is that last night, at times, he looked like a world beater - only to follow it up with 2 very soft goals. I dont get it. How can he be so good for stretches & then just lapse on easy plays - he's done this for most of the 2nd half of this season. Hopefully that gets sorted out tonight. Your right IMO, to many other many variables on the ice for 50 shots to indicate "totally outplaying another team". That goal by Rene Bourque in the second was icing, mix up the offense get thinking differently. Can't expect backhand roofers all night long but was a beauty goal nonetheles! I'd disagree about Carey needing to have a big game though. Defense still needs to play tighter and more like a unit and give up less point blank chances. Carey needs to obviously play playoff mentality hockey but there is no free pass for sloppy defensive zone play because CP31 is in net.
THEBIGGESTHABSFAN123
Hopefully Anderson is worn out after having to face 51 shots and having to play the next day. I predict a 3-1 win.
