Forward Shawn Horcoff of the Edmonton Oilers appears willing to play ball, as far as a potential trade is concerned. According to Oilers radio analyst Bob Stauffer (630 CHED), Horcoff's agent Pat Brisson and Oilers GM Craig MacTavish are "working together to facilitate a move". Such co-operation is necessary, since Horcoff is armed with a no-movement clause (becomes a modified no-trade clause July 1).

EDMONTON — Edmonton Oilers forward Sam Gagner will miss the start of the regular season with a broken jaw.

Gagner suffered the injury in Edmonton’s 5-2 exhibition win over Vancouver on Saturday.

Gagner collided on the side boards with Vancouver’s Zack Kassian, and Kassian’s stick knocked out some of Gagner’s teeth.

Kassian received a four-minute penalty on the play.

The team said Gagner is out indefinitely.

This quote is very telling:

" I really don’t like skating all the time, and forechecking, and hitting somebody every shift. I don’t think it’s my game.”

That really, stuck out for me, in the article. Also, I am surprised he would say that.

He's sitting out tonight's game too. He's not helping his team by saying that.

Galchenyuk looks better and better each time the others stars to be, falter :P

Its things like this that make bigotry towards European players a thing. So far in his career he has trash talked Canadians, who are primarily responsible for coaching him, slid across the ice like an idiot after scoring a relatively average goal, and his play hasn't been impressive. Now he's saying things that, fairly or not, just make him look lazy. Not doing any favors for his friends across the pond.

I am in no way defending the European bias though, just showing why it still exists.
