maddienmike
Yeah great picture, just look at the size of the neck on him,he has to be quite strong and will get stronger, doesn't matter how small he is,a couple of years time,no one will take him on,so many people think strentgh is all about size, they couldn't be more wrong. There used to be a wieght lifter called Precious McKenzie he was very small but won Olympic gold for his wieght class several times, but pound for pound could lift a lot more than any other wieght lifter. Gally has speed, skill and hockey IQ plus strenght grit and work ethic what more could you want. GO GALLY GO

GO GALLY GO Dunno if you know this, but his dad is the strength and conditioning coach for the Vancouver Giants and every Summer he and his dad train together. And to think, he'll probably have a Summer in a year or two where he can put on 8 pounds of serious muscle...can't wait to see this kid when he's physically mature. Interestingly, and not to nit pick...but I don't find Gallagher to be THAT fast. A lot of guys around his size really excel on their speed, and while he's not slow or anything it's hardly the trademark of his game. It's sort of for this reason I don't think that we have to worry about him filling out too much and losing any of his "speed" because it's not really his trademark. If he lost a bit of speed and it gave him the ability to stand his ground a bit better in the creases it could really improve him as a player overall. I also think that in a very short time he'll be a very competent 2 way guy, and in a few years will be a great player to face other teams' top lines while also providing offence, grit, and leadership. Simply put....I don't want to get too ahead of myself, but this kid looks like he's got captain, 30+, high end 2 way play capability and I can't believe they got him in the 5th round. maddienmike
Yes I did know that,I live in Vancouver so I always kept up with the news of him when he was on the Giants,he also trains with Lucic in the summer, and several other NHL"ers. I am not sure I agree with you about his speed,a couple of times last season he took the puck and flew, but because he spends most of his time in the dirty areas you don't always see his speed, but if he thought he wasn't fast enough he will be working on that,he doesn't like to be beaten. Agreed, for his size we expect a very speedy little winger. He's not BGL slow, he has decent foot speed, but not a little spitfire like a St Louis or Gionta. maddienmike
Well he doesn't seemed to have missed a step, from last season,he played last night as if he had no break at all,but thats the kind of kid he is,he was doing a Pleks last night, one minute in the o zone next keeping our net clear. When ever I read on other sites about him, some commenters don't like him but still want him on their team, every one else just wants him and loves him, this is a 5-8 or 9 guy ,depends where you read, just goes to prove that not all hockey players need to be 6-6 and fighters, this little mans work ethic and heart,is all you need to be good, wether he has raw talent or learned skills,he is just great. GO GALLY GO

jedimaas
I love the fact that the Gally-Eller-Gally line appears to be remaining intact at least to start the year. There are things I like about seeing Briere with Eller, or playing Galchenyuk with DD, but overall i just love what these 3 bring to a line together.I have a feeling this line may be the only one that makes it all year without being changed. Then again, with that much talent on one line, theres a decent chance MT may have no choice but to break them up & spread it around.Hoping for lots of PP time for Gallagher and the other 2 as well. maddienmike
Not a lot of love here for our bazooka, little gun with a big shot, played great the other night,he plays defence very well, used to do that with the Giants and did that in the WJC.Just love the way he smiles all the time, hope he doesn't lose that like PK has. jenzed
I love Gally B's attitude and work ethics. He just keeps coming back for more, and you can just see those big defenders getting more and more irritated by him as the game progresses. Oh he's also a pretty good goal scorer as well...... Only thing I'm afraid of is if he gets injured in the crease, with those bid D-men. The guy has NO fear whatsoever.

habby4ever
Winger Brendan Gallagher is supportive of his linemate.“Lars, obviously, he makes our line go. He controls the puck and when he goes, our line goes. And playing with (him), you know he is going to get you the puck, no matter where you are. You just have to get open and you just have to make the right play,” he said.Read more: http://montreal.ctvnews.ca/therrien-not-playing-favourites-ahead-of-western-road-trip-1.1488061#ixzz2hAFsCJFq

maddienmike
Nice goal kid! Only bright spot of that debacle. Showed a lot of different skills in one sequence. You have to give it too him, that was a great goal, came on the ice took the puck, then it was in the net,I love the way he see's opportunitys like this, and he is improving all the time,I really think we have a good one here,as long as the first time he has a really bad game, people won't want to trade him.I love his tenacity,it's a pity you can't teach that. Pleks goal was nice too. GO GALLY GO

FirstStar
I'm with you on that JR. We don't have much coming from our other forwards either, the pleks line has dried up and the egg line, well, they're always up and down, for me I expect some inconsistency from them given the age of all 3 players. Imagine when these guys (I'm talking more about 2 Gally's) have a few years under their belts? Eller has pretty much broken out and should plateau in the next few years, but the 2 Gally's are still a good 5+ years from their prime. If we can get them a good supporting cast, we're going to have a very competitive team in a few years. We're not there yet, but all these close games (1 goal losses) are a positive sign for me.
