THEBIGGESTHABSFAN123
What do we need another goalie prospect for is beyond me ... Chicago should have drafted him instead Gambling on a goalie with good stats late is a good option IMO. This late in the draft most picks never make it to the NHL so if you see a guy you like, you take him regardless of position. 22-6-3, 1.99 GAA, and .926. RicochetII
we traded our 3rd and 4th 3rd round and 4th round that is ... if no other movement, our next pick is in the 5th round as for the feed, you can have it directly from nhl.com I figured it would be a waste of time to check nhl.com, guessed wrong. Thanks for the info! (I ended up having to go do something anyway, so I missed the rest of the draft.) Interesting with Gorges, but with Emelin being mentioned by name in Scherbak discussions by Bergevin, I kind of figured that meant Markov and Emelin were staying and Gorges might have to be moved to lighten the load on the left. Makes signing Weaver more likely as well.

I'm curious if they are getting rid of one of them cause they believe in the young guys that much or have a replacement in mind
BigTed3
I believe Scherbak could be a player in the NHL in a few years, but outside of that, I look at the draft haul and am not terribly convinced any of the other guys will become and NHL regular. Of course, anything can happen, but the rest of the bunch all seem like longshots and projects. Compared to last year, when I was unhappy with the first round choice but quite pleased with the rest, this really feels like the opposite. Only time will tell, but I think we'll look back in 5-7 years and feel like last year's draft was a success and this year's was not.

I agree with your assessment though, I'm just not surprised I feel that way. I wasn't sure I'd be happy with our #1 and I am.

I feel the same, however, it could end up being a nice balance to have that blend of safe/risky picks in the system.

THEBIGGESTHABSFAN123
Scherbak not invited to Russia's WJC camp. Also, he has a December birthday so he only needs one more year before he's allowed to go to Hamilton.
