habs_93
well, when leblanc was drafted he had the rocket"s sweater, look where that led him So what you're saying is, we need to make all our draftees wear #28 and #65?
habs_93
Bah, stupid Islanders.
ColRouleBleu
I just watched a video of his highlights that the Blades posted on twitter . I'm liking this kid already, not to metion that I'm partial to Russians so all is good Bah, stupid Islanders. Well, we dont have a second round pick so he was either our 1st or bye bye. Better the Islanders than a stronger team imo
East_Coast_Juggalo_13
Nikita Scherbak-Welcome to the Habs...What a great 1st pick for the Habs...He would look great on the left side of Galchenyuk...And judging by the highlight real I just watched, he could end up on Galchenyuk's left side sooner rather than later...A nice skill forward with size...Good pick up Marc and Tim... http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=209468

I think, though, that when they go to their new building and start drawing more, they're going to turn into a much more regularly competitive team. THEBIGGESTHABSFAN123
Scherbak can play all three forward positions.
habsisme
It seems like he's also a high risk/reward guy. The Russian angle and what now, he also should have been drafted higher. I tend to like high risk picks in these situations.

I agree and good for them and for their fans Returning to Scherbak: his favorite player is Datsyuk and he wears #27 in honor of Kovalev ... I'm REALLY liking this kid more and more
jose_mirandez
I'm crying on the inside No Bleackley, no Lemieux and no second round picks. I'm sure tomorrow will be better, but for now it feels like the grinch has just stolen Christmas...

I can easily picture him playing with Chucky in a not so distant future
habsisme
I'd love it if they could trade someone for a second right now!
habs_93
So, this Devils pick's comparable is Dave Bolland according to TSN. Which means he's going to get talked about incessantly on Sportsnet?
ColRouleBleu
too cute: @ArponBasu: Q: "What do you know about Montreal?" Scherbak: "Merci? Bonjour?"
RicochetII
Well, the rest of the weekend should be fairly exciting leading up to July 1st. Hope we make some good decisions!
THEBIGGESTHABSFAN123
Definitely our best prospect now(I don't consider Beaulieu a prospect anymore).

I'm sure tomorrow will be better, but for now it feels like the grinch has just stolen Christmas... You know what? I'm a huge Brendan Lemieux fan and I was one of the people who lobbied on this forum to draft him...However I think this guy is a GREAT PICK at 26th and I think he'll prove to be the steal of the draft. Anybody up for a; Patches, Galchenyuk, Sherbek line.
THEBIGGESTHABSFAN123
I actually didn't now much about him lol. Just liked him, but now I like him more. Saskatoon sucked, only won 16/72 games. Apparently he needs to work on his game without the puck but that can be taught, the skill he has cannot. I'm crying on the inside No Bleackley, no Lemieux and no second round picks. I'm sure tomorrow will be better, but for now it feels like the grinch has just stolen Christmas... Wow it's the opposite for me. I would have been pissed if we took Lemieux but now I feel great. ColRouleBleu
they just interviewed scherbak on TSN, the kid is adorable in his replies and has a great sense of humor too OT: per Renaud Lavoie, Habs are still hopeful to sign Mike Weaver. They are less hopeful to sign Brian Gionta. He could hit the market July 1st.

I think he can still help us but I don't love the idea of 3 years. As long as we find a suitable replacement (that will mean 2 top 9 right wingers then!) Im ok with not resigning him, but we need to fill those holes.
