Not only that, I can draw a line on the goal line and check conclusively. B)

This does give me an idea for MUCH more reliable goal reviews, though. Ever watched Olympic swimming or the NFL? Those lines that sit properly on the playing field/pool? They do that with stationary cameras whose locations are correlated in a computer. So, for goal reviews, I think you'd want three to five cameras mounted on relatively immobile positions around the net. Then it would be (theoretically) possible to recover depth information reliably, without even using some kind of infrared reflectivity system on the puck/ice.

Whoa now! Easy, big fella.

You're asking this from a league whose website is still showing 20:00 left if the first period and no shots on goal.

Yeah no kidding. They won't spend any extra money on Ref development. Good luck getting them to fund extra cameras for each arena. Why would they??? They have that infallible crew in Toronto.

Good point. Goes to show, can't please everyone.

One huge CH at centre ice would look awesome on TV, where there are hundreds of thousands watching. And I really think it would look fabulous in person too. I'd love to see an in your face GIANT CH at centre ice!!!!

But it would be upside down for the fans on the opposite side of the ice,. :P

It's an imperfect oval, it would look weird split in two by the red line

Yeah, I know. :P It's just a little bit irritating to know that there's at least a half dozen ways that 95% of goal reviews could be decided with evidence instead of subjectively looking at blurred video cameras not positioned in the ideal locations.

Aren't you required to change your sweater if it's bloody?

Don't get me started on that ! Letang hit out -whatever happened to time in the dark room to assess immediate concussion symptoms?

HE got back out with blood on his jersey and shoved and shoved and harassed Carey and got a CENSORED goal!

Throw out the book, if it doesn't apply to all equitably, not worth it.
