STUFF AND FLUFF

The Bruins will try to earn their 11th win in 14 games and maintain a slim lead over Montreal on Thursday night. The Canadiens, meanwhile, will seek to take over first place by extending their point streak to nine games and winning their fifth in a row at home.

Last 10: Boston 7-2-1; Montreal 8-1-1

One of the best rivalries in sports resumes Thursday at Bell Centre, and the stakes are high. The surging Canadiens picked up another victory Wednesday against the New Jersey Devils and sit one point behind the Bruins for the Atlantic Division lead.

"We've played good hockey," Desharnais said. "Sometimes it's not our best hockey, but we find ways to win. Confidence is up right now. Everybody is playing well. Everybody is doing their job. We're having fun. It's great."

Who's hot: Bruins center David Krejci has a goal and four assists in the past five games. … Canadiens captain Brian Gionta has a goal and four assists in his past four. Desharnais has nine points (three goals, six assists) in his past eight games.

Injury report: Bruins defenseman Torey Krug (undisclosed) practiced Wednesday and is listed as day-to-day. He did accompany the team to Montreal. Adam McQuaid (lower body) is also day-to-day. … Montreal is expected to be without forward Rene Bourque (upper body) and defenseman Davis Drewiske (shoulder).

More info as it becomes available.

Seems like my boss always finds a way to schedule me during the big ones. Pretty bummed I don't get to watch this one.

Well rested, against a Habs playing their 6th game in 9 nights or something like that, being the more physical team, this plays into Boston's hands even if we are at home. Carey will have to be really good again tonight.

How many games between these two teams last season were played with the division lead at stake? All of them I think, and I guess the trend is continuing. Boston's got a few games at hand, but the point remains.

Go Habs Go!

Well rested can be a detriment as well. Habs are in game shape and game ready, while the ruins might be a little slow out of the gate, having not played a team in a while. If we can get on them in the 1st, and don't put the brakes on, then we will have a pretty good chance of winning.

I'm going to miss tonight's game. My friend is celebrating their birthday and having dinner around 8:00pm. Go Habs!

Bring your phone or tablet. ;)

Not the best quality, actually quality is good, just hard to see the puck on a small screen, but have done it.

A friend of mine had a party a few weeks ago, the boys huddled around my iPhone as we watched the game.

As for the bruins, we have to take advantage of their long layoff and test rask early on. Before the rest of the b's big boys find their legs and grab the momentum away from us.

B's haven't played since Saturday apparently, they're going to be well rested, maybe too well rested. Thankfully for us Price had a night off, so should be fresh for tonight's game.

Rask as solid as he's been for the b's, has had trouble against our high flying habs.

That's how i see it and it wasn't like last night was a huge physical game. We played the devils, I'd be more concerned had we played the leafs, then faced boston on the tail end of back to back nights.

The fact we faced the devils is actually a plus. We should be in game form and not worn down from a physical battle.

Habs played boring devils hockey last night, so it's as close as you can get to a night off, without actually having one. :P

I feel your pain, had a blackberry before switching to IPhone.

I really wanted to support a Canadian company, but ugh, the blackberry curve (old version) gave me so many problems. The last few months I couldn't even answer any calls, I kept getting the hourglass as a call came in and anyone who's ever owned a blackberry knows you can't do anything while the stupid hourglass is spinning. <_<

I prefer Android over apple or blackberry.

Wow, it's hard to believe that even though Boston started out so good, and even lately is on a 7-2-1 tear, Montreal has crept to within ONE point of the division leader.

And, I think the team has a lot more to show us.

Still, this game has me worried that the Habs will have a very difficult time, both with Boston's overall goonish play, and the usual challenging calls and non-calls by the zebras. I'd love it if they went up big early, but I'm not getting my hopes up for that. I guess all I want to see is the team compete at the level they know they are capable of (and haven't been too far off lately) so it's mostly pleasure, not pain, to watch them.

For the occasion, I'm bringing trains full of bananas. They look like there's only one banana in each one, like this:

banana-train-ani.gif

....but they actually contain lots of hidden soldier bananas inside:

I guess they could be called Trojan Bananas. Or a Trojan Train. Take your pick.

I just hope that the game is close 2-0 or 3-1 ( for us ),,,,,that way the ruins' goonies won't see the ice that much. If it gets out of hand, then we can expect,,,,,,well you know.

Evening Habs_93.

I think we can win this game, but we can't wait until the 3rd period to wake up. Boston is going to be slow out of the gate with their long layoff. We need to test Rask often and early and hopefully get an early lead. I expect the bruins to come back strong once they find their legs, they've been good at coming back and winning games.

Just ask the leafs.

They've also been good at losing the cup in the final minutes of game 6 that they were leading in, just ask the hawks.

That's still one of my favourite moments in sports history. Out of all the Boston chokes—and there's been lots in many sports—I do believe it's the absolute number one. I hate to admit it, but I didn't see the cup winning goal live. I watched the entire game and was grumbling about Boston having a chance to win in Game 7 and turned on a baseball game until I got the text alert from the Score about the lead change and hastily changed the channel back to savour it.

Hey, 93, ready for a goodie?

Absolutely.

Wow......did it once, and already they're experts. I guess it's fitting for them.

Bottom line: they're evil. Evil, evil prunes. I hate them.

evil-prune.jpg

The last 8 games between these 2 teams have been decided by 1 goal.

....so, that's an average of one-eighth goal per game???? I'm confused......but that's nothing new.
