kinot-1
NOTE: THIS IS A 6:00 EST. START FOR THEIR LAST GAME BEFORE THE OLYMPIC BREAK, THE MONTREAL CANADIENS VISIT THE CAROLINA HURRICANES The big story is that the last time the Habs went to Raleigh, on New Years Eve,, they built up a 3-0 lead going into the 3rd, only to have it disappear in the first 8:16 of the period to go down by a score of 4-3. PK's PP goal then tied it, and we went to OT, where the Canes scored to win it. However, the Habs won the rematch on Jan. 28th, 3-0. Top point getters for the Canes: Points--Eric Staal--44 Goals--Jeff Skinner--23 Assists--Eric Stall--30 They have 5 players with over 10 Goals Goaltending: GAA--Justin Peters--2.50 SV%--Anton Khudobin--.927 Shutouts--Peters--1 Former Habs now with the Canes, Mike Komisarek, Arron Palushaj, Ron Hainsey. Injuries: Joni Pitkanen The Canes PP is operating the slow clip of 14.1%, while their Pk is at a mediocre 79.6%. They do have 9 Shorty's. They currently (before tonights/last night's game) hold down 12th spot in the EC. They are 6-4-0 in their last 10 GP. and have a -15 goal differential. Their home record is 14-11-5. Top point getters for the Habs: Points--PK--39 Goals--Max--26 Assists--PK--31 Goaltending: GAA--Budaj--1.97 SV%--Price--.924 Shutouts--Price--4 Injuries: Michael Bournival, Travis Moen, Alex Galchenyuk. We have 6 players with 10 goal or more, including the injured Galchenyuk. Habs PP is 13th league-wide and is operating at a 19.2% rate, while the Pk is a sparkling 85. 9%, good for 3rd overall. Habs are 4-5-1 in their last 10GP And are 14-11-2 on the road. Including the forgettable last weekend games, the Habs top line of Max, DD, and Gally-B, have a total of 18 PTs. in 6 games. As usual, game notes and line-ups will be posted as the become available. LET'S HAVE A ANOTHER WIN!!! kinot-1's GDT record is in free-fall at 13-8-1. Go Habs Go! Ha ha. Well done. Good point, too. A regulation win tonight will secure a Bonus Point for the Magic Number so it's a little like a 3-point game. With only 23 games remaining (10 home, 13 away) after the Olympics, every point is going to matter: the ones we do/don't get and the ones we do/don't trail by going into extra time against teams chasing us. I'm hoping to see a full 60-minute effort because I don't doubt Carolina knows what's at stake and will come at us hard right from the start. RicochetII
''Canadiens' Emelin fined $5,000 for butt-ending'' Anyone know what that is?. Spearing with the knob of the stick as opposed to the blade is probably the easiest way to put it. Sometimes happens when a skater takes retaliation after the ref misses a possible infraction. Flying_Lion
''Canadiens' Emelin fined $5,000 for butt-ending'' Anyone know what that is?. A joke? Of all the supplementary discipline handed down by the NHL, it's these kinds of things that make me laugh. Really? So many bad hits uncalled and unsanctioned and this is a headline?!? ... Crap. Flyers up on Flames 2-0 in the 3rd. Looking like any MN Bonus Points are going to come from beating Carolina in regulation.

kinot-1
The Canadiens will dress seven defencemen when they visit the Carolina Hurricanes. Defenceman Francis Bouillon, who has been a healthy scratch for the last eight games, will return to the lineup as the seventh defenceman. Carey Price will start in goal for the Canadiens in their final game before the Olympic break. Here’s how the lines and defence pairings are expected to look against the Hurricanes: Pacioretty-Desharnais-Gallagher Gionta-Plekanec-Briere Bourque-Eller-Prust White-Weise Gorges-Subban Beaulieu-Murray Markov-Emelin Bouillon I wonder who will play on the 4th line? RicochetII
The Canadiens will dress seven defencemen ... ... I wonder who will play on the 4th line? Olympic break might have hit just in time with Bournival joining Galchenyuk and Moen. I would assume there is going to be some juggling throughout the game tonight, not necessarily a D on the fourth line. I love your signature! Thank you!
